I don't understand keeping him (if that is in in fact what they have done), he hasn't even been dressing the last few games....and he can't even get minutes when TJ is out.

I know you aren't going to go out and sign a game changer if you release him, but I would think there would be someone out there that is more useful for this team than him.

Make him an Assistant coach. He's a waste of a roster spot.

Some of you are so naive to think that any other player we bring in to replace Martin would make a difference.

Never in the history of the NBA has the 15th man (or 11th, 12th, 13th, or 14th), made any kind of impact on a teams' successes.

Cutting Martin would just upset some of the other players. We're not bringing in anyone else worth a damn, so why rock the boat? BC made the right move (no move).

Wait a minute, Martins a cheap expiring contract ... I think a trade may happen this year.

Jamario Moon started the season as our 15th man.

If the teams starts playing worse because they miss Martin, then they really are a bunch of pansies.

It is actually somewhat important seeing as the guy we would add could be our backup PG for a significant period of time this season.

Judging by the thread I just saw now (granted, your post may have been well before it), BC disagrees.

Except for that time when Mo Pete came back into the game for 20 seconds and sent us to overtime so we could win, when he had clearly lost out to the other guys at his position in the rotation, placing him almost on the IR...

Took the words out of my mouth,
I don't think there are many FA point guards that will make that huge of an impact at this point, If Martin is liked in the dressing room and Sam seems content with this Calderon/Dixon tandem then so be it.

I agree with most of your post, except for the bolded part.

Having no decent backup to Jose has cost us at least 2-3 potential victories this season.

Just read Grange's post and it now makes perfect sense. the league pays half his salary as a vet so cutting him would not give us savings or tax relief, it would only take money out of Dmart's pocket that is comming from the league pool that pays half of the vet's salary. So when or if we need a roster spot he can still be released, but he will still be paid. seeing as it's not our money, seems to me to be the right thing to do, not that BC needs my approval.
