If you think about it, this guy has a very good attitude about the situation. He's unselfish, a guy we need on this team.

As a Spaniard, I am insulted.
As a lover of women and bullfighting...you are correct in your assessment. .

I will go on record saying this:

Calderon will be the best point guard in the NBA in 4/5 years.

Quote me on it. Call me out! but I'm going to stand by it!

I think your amnesia has let you forget about Tony Parker & Chris Paul.

more interesting quotes from Jose:

"If I would want to score more, of course I could, but if I have an open teammate I prefer to pass the ball. I don

I didn't understand Hoopshype's version of the first sentence of that paragraph either, so I looked at the original. Jose actually means that if a friend of his wants to come see him play next season, he doesn't know if that friend will need to travel to Toronto. The implied meaning is that Jose doesn't know if he will be in Toronto next season. Knowing Spanish sports media, chances are the reporter asked "If a friend of yours wants to see you next year, will he need to travel to Toronto?" and Jose just replied "I don't know".

HERE IS A CORRECT TRANSLATION OF ALL OF CALDERONS QUOTES:

Calderon: "If I sign a good contract, I will earn respect"

QUOTES FROM CALDERON IN THE ARTICLE:

"If I sign a good contract, I will earn respect. Thats what is important.
I hope everything ends well."

"What I want is to win. To go to a place where I will earn 12 million but
not have the option to win colectively, does not interest me. Its not positive
for my career. I will be judging this closely"

RETURN TO EUROPE?
" I would return with my head held high, I would have liked to win the ACB or the
Euroleague. In both cases I got to the final".

In Tj's absense, he's played more:

"If I wanted to shoot more I could, of course, but if I have a wide open teammate
I rather pass him the ball. I do not like to force a shot as soon as I get there(the offensive end),
I prefer to play long(ie. run plays, milk the clock etc)."

On Steve Nash and Jason Kidd-> his "mirrors"(ie. players he attempts to model his game after)

"Firstly, because they are consistent. And they have a double characteristic: Capable of making their
teammates better and they score as well. Precisely, this is what I try to do. I want the defense to
have to work because of me, my game, because they feel the threat, always with the goal of making things
easy for the rest of my teammates".

Game plan starts with control:
" I try to change pace. I gamble, from far or in a one on one against the centers in a drive".

Grow individually:
"Last year I didnt have as much security with the ball. Now I try to reduce the turnovers as much as possible,
not risk with a pass if it is not clear."

Grow collectivly:.
"Lets see if I am the first spaniard to win a round in the playoffs. We're better, with a bigger roster, and the
injuries have compacted the block(ie. created parity in the east...i think thats what he's going for). Time will
make us stronger. We can be part of something great."

VISIT?
"If a fellow spaniard wants to come and visit me next year, I do not know if they will have to travel to Toronto.
At the end, it will depend on the Raptors bid".
Jose lives happily in TO close to Garbajosa,
"I do my job with no stress(load, burden) , I enjoy it. I like the city very much as well. I never thought I would get this far".
