"Asked Sam on the weekend about the kind of coaching Bargnani's getting and what they can do to help him out. Mitchell did suggest they might send Bargs to a big man's camp this summer, the one run by the legendary Pete Newell, I imagine, so he can learn the intricacies of being an NBA centre."

That begs some follow up questions. Like, you've got an NBA number one draft pic and he's been around almost eighteen months and now (!?!) you're maybe gonna get him some big man coaching? They're being really really patient with this guy's development. And what, precisely, does he need to work on in the big man's camp? Let's have some follow-up...

what follow up do you want? All this is is a suggestion and not written in stone yet.

Here in Italy we never heard about stuff like that.
Those declarations are probably fake.

Sorry, I was joking. As has been pointed out above, there are many, many Italians in Toronto. I've dated a few myself. Next time when I make a sarcastic post, I'll try to be funny at the same time. That might serve as a tip-off.

The relevant point I was trying to get at is that there doesn't seem to be many Italian-speaking sports writers here. Hmm, maybe Rosie DiManno can try to get inside Bargs' head.

I want to know why they're considering it now as opposed to when they drafted him or at the end of last season. And I'd like follow up on all the questions i asked above. Why is AB not performing to expectations: are his physical gifts not as good as everyone thought initially? Is it his basketball IQ? Is he soft? Does he lack will or a competitive mindset? Is he being used properly? Is he not pushed hard enough or is he being pushed too hard? Is he playing the right position? Does he lack of intelligence or court awareness, or just experience?
We spend a lot of time talking about this guy and our views of him tend to be overly influenced by his last bad play. Given Barg's value to the franchise -- he's supposed to be the future, even better than bosh, by some accounts -- there is very little curiosity among the beat guys as to his problems. do some reporting fellas.
