there is a reason why JK isn't coming into the game in crunch time and that's DEFENSE. He is almost automatic with the hand checks as his foot speed is just to slow most SF's.

I watched the replay. I thought we responded well to the Johnson thing. It would have been different if he was still in the game, but after he got tossed, I don't think they should have targeted Joe Johnson, or anything like that. the pace and physicality picked up and we responded well and won.

Agreed, the intensity picked up and we were equal to the challenge. I'd still like to see one of the Raps get a little pissed at Johnson for pulling **** like that.

what I like is Jose's efficiency. He has taken around 11 shots a game for the past few games and makes a good percentage. He just takes the shots that are presented to him without forcing the offence. But he does seem to have a knock for getting those big baskets when the team needs them. He and Bosh have been working real well off-late. The raps seem to initiate their offence off a Bosh post-up.

Never a hater, but I was disappointed in his play early in the year and said he wouldn't make the AS game. He's a lock now though. Nice to see him going to the hole more instead of settling. It makes all the difference.

^ his scoring is down but in some ways he's playing better. It's not like were running play after play for him and he's not delivering. His offense will come back, once he kicks the meth perhaps, and I think he'll be a better player for these struggles because he's starting to rely on other parts of his game, if he was burying three after three, fans would be happier, but he may take longer to become a passable rebounder. Stat might not show it much but Andrea's no longer hurting us on the boards, as much as before. He, and the whole team for that matter, are really looking to put a body on guys lately when a shot goes up. He's adjusting his shot and it's not working he has to try to forget he's struggling and believe it or not, he has to shoot himself out of it. I say one game where he plays well offensively and defensively, (I know not to much to ask for a no. 1 pick right) he'll have some mojo back.

The thing with Moon though is that even he does take some iffy shots and although he probably should drive it more, he's one of the few if not the only players on this team who is effective and can make an impact on the floor without having the ball in his hands.

To me, his defensive play - blocks, steals, man/help defense etc. is similar in game impact to say, Jose's shooting, passing etc.

I think that's why he gets so many minutes as well - because of his ability to still impact the game even with his offensive short comings.

For all of Bargnani's struggles, he's started doing something very important the past two games. He's leaving his man to provide help, thus clogging the lane. He used to stay close to his guy no matter what, for sake of not being beaten by him, with the result that we often gave up an open layup because he was playing it far too safe. That's changing now. He was also working harder on the boards, and while it doesn't show in the numbers, he did mix it up in a way that helped teammates get rebounds.

But he has to get his offence back on track to be a net plus on the court.

I doubt he plays too much tonight, because Philly always goes small.

Funny thing is, Hawks commentators called Bargnani a weapon on offense and it would be a great and close game.

I don't know about that, I think he loses track of his man a little too easily and that's one of the reasons why people get so many boards over him. I want him to play it safe on defense and focus almost entirely on boxing his man out instead of providing help except in cases where he's the weakside man and is our last defensive resort.
