Heh, no slamming...notice the lack of soothing dark blue font? 'Twas not a mod correction, just a re-interpretation.

Immediately after my heavily sacrastic post, everyone seems to ignore that I posted this:

"In belinelli's defence... he arguably has 8 guys ahead of him at the g/f position, GS is just stacked!

Plus how to you break into B Diddys, Jacksons, Ellis', Harringtons minutes.... 4 guys sharing G/F, PLUS, there is still Azubikue(sp?), Barnes, Pietrus, even Troy Hudson... lol

GS is trying to make the playoffs, not develop rookies right now."

After my bad joke, this was my genuine answer posted immediately after the later misinterpreted OP.

Why aren't we scouting in South America, their players are perfect fit for the North American game as these players tend to be aggressive and can handle the ball quite well. Examples could be Barbosa, Varejao, Delfino, Ginoboli, etc.

That could be so misinterpreted.

Agreed, RR. Because Belinelli was on our radar pre-draft, there's no harm in discussing his current status. But his inability to find minutes on the Warriors shouldn't serve to provoke a referendum on Italian players.

.I'm gonna start writing with a new colour now too. I like this.

Belinelli is behind alot of guys on GS, so its hard for him to crack the rotation. I never really like his game though. Really streaky shooter with great range, but is fairly one dimensional. Last year I was pulling for Rudy Fernandez or Tiago Splitter if we were grabbing a late pick.

Nelson is a little wierd when it comes to rookies too.

As for this fear of Italian players, the best one has yet to come and I'd hate to avoid taking Danilo Gallinari.

Even though Bargs was drafted #1 overall and has a load of talent, I think Gallinari is going to be better than him.

So uh, we can start his Italian ban after this draft, lol.

I'm not positive but I think most of those players are playing in Europe by the time they're in their late teens anyway.

I have a question, has edit: Maurizio Gherardini ever looked at NCAA talent? I can't imagine this guy becoming a GM in the NBA. He should be a scout.

I bet BC will trade 2 first rounders to get Belinelli here. If Hump was traded for Belinelli, the Raptors would be a pure jumpshooting team with Bosh as the only pure rebounder.

Don't we have enough Raps employees threatening lawsuits? -Schad.

edit: i cant use that nickname anymore?

I dont know what else you would like me to do.

The intention of my OP was filled with sarcasm.. I dont believe where you come from determines if you are a good basketball player or not.. and I thought people would see through that. Its a (Please Use More Appropriate Word) theory for why both are not seeing minutes, and I thought others would see that and look past it.

I will refrain from ever mentioning ethnic backgrounds again.

Again, for the third time, I am sorry.

No probs. I get it now. The biggest problem was starting the apology with relax. On these message boards in comes across wrong.

Anyway. I should not one to talk. I used to post exactly the same way as you did there. Using emoticons helped me to get my moods across. I am not perfect and that is for sure.

OT - What's the deal with Belinelli?

Post#50 » by Colangelo_Love » Sun Jan 20, 2008 6:06 pm

Is he available? It seems G.State are doing nothing with him. I think he would fit perfect with the raps. Would be nice to see him and Bargnani playing together.
