I agree that Rasho has an advantage from the efficiency standpoint, but I think that Bargnani's ability to draw the attention of the defense helps everyone else while he's on the floor. Most of the time, teams are still covering him with a big out at the three point line, so he opens up the inside. When he catches the ball inside he is usually doubled immediately; defenders rarely sag very far off of him when he is behind the three point line.
Considering the way he's playing, the respect teams are showing him might not be the optimal defensive strategy. Maybe they just haven't caught up yet. But as long as they
are showing him that respect, he is making a fairly significant contribution offensively just through his presence.
Right now, because Andrea is playing
so badly I'd say it's a wash. But assuming Andrea should at least shoot a little better than he's doing, I'll take him over Rasho on the offensive end.
