If the playoffs started today..

Post#1 » by Rhythm043 » Wed Jan 23, 2008 9:17 pm

and assuming NJ was in the playoffs against us with each of the current roster situations such as they are now...do you think the Raptors would be able to pull it off the series this year? Or would the RJ, Kidd and Vince be able to pull it off again?

Why/why not?

As far as how the two teams are playing right now, I'd say we'd pull it off in 5 games.
They got absolutely killed by Sacto last night and aren't playing well.
By the end of the season though it'll be a different Nets team again I think.
I still think the series would be very close.

From what I noticed last time we didn't have very many playoff players, are euros were the best on the team, it sort of looked like Bosh shied away in playoffs and got into early foul trouble, I think we'd be able to beat them this year because they haven't been playing that great, but based upon our last playoffs I don't think we could make a legit run.

Yes, we'd pull it off. Why? No Mikki Moore.

They are but we're softer, especially between the ears.

As it stands right now, we have a 99% chance of making to the playoffs, a 50% chance of making it to the conference semis, a 17% chance of making it to the conference finals, and 3% chance of winning a title.

We were in the exact same situation last year ans they handed us out butts last year. We gotta see how it turns out and wait until playoff time.

Well it's not exactly in the same situation. First they dont have Mikki Moore to stop Bosh. Second our experience with them last year was huge. I think IMO that we'll take it if we were going to face them.

Yep. Mikki Moore = Bosh-stopper.

if the nets or any team we face in playoffs controls bosh, then we have no chance of getting into the second round. THEre is no solid second option on this team that can win or control a game.

NJ always scares me in a playoff matchup, because Vince would be motivated. And they do have an extremely dangerous big 3. They're a very tough matchup, and a scary one for the Raps.

I think they would be able to take on Jersey this year, however the Raptors really picked up in that seiries when Bargnani starting performing well in the last few games. With him playing the way he has of late... and Laurence Frank being a far more gifted coach than Smitch, I wouldn't exactly put the house on it...
