Second round picks in 2010 and 2011 go to Detroit...

Who are our scouts looking at for the first round selection this year? Is this guy really a first round pick?

Which is longer the list of centers that have excelled in the NBA or the list of centers that have failed?

It's not hard to buy a second round pick if BC feels a player is left on the board that we need.

It sounds like this prospect will have plenty of time to increase his stock between now and the draft. Someone picking ahead of Toronto will take a flyer on him.

Michael Olowokandi anyone?

Big, aggressive, back to the basket player. Sounds good.

If conditioning is his biggest weakness, that can be taken care of given he has the right attitude. I just hope he doesn't rebound like Eddy Curry.
Roy's the best player I've played against outside this guy from my hood in Queensbridge, guy named Mike Chaplain. He went to jail when he was 15 years old. He was the best player I played against, now it's Brandon Roy.

Kinda OT- who is John Riek. Just throwin' that out there because of the 'center prospect' theme of the thread..

Good to see MLSE getting air miles. The guy seems to have little fat in his body, but may not be athletic enough for the NBA.

Clearly defense is the difference between winning and losing for this team.

I just like how we're looking all over for players.

I'm pretty confident that we do a thorough job of scouting players all over the world, and it's comforting.

Jawai is an interesting type of player. The type of player we need. I know jack all about him though, lol.

Yeah, don't know much about him, although his strengths are something that we are in need of. If he's a good enough player that can give us some strength, agility and rebounding at the 5, I would be very interested in drafting him.

Should we be trying to get Atlanta's pick, owned by the Suns???!

They have a $8 mill trade exception, so we can pretty much offer whatever. Would Humphries be enough?? Would we even want to give up on him for another draft pick?? I don't think I would want to, but def. wouldn't be opposed to it

Is Garbo due back anytime soon? they might like him too, though I doubt it.

He reminds me of a taller Reggie Evans with a good wing span. He seems to be the kind of player we are missing in the post.

Seems like more of a hustle player than a ZBo/Curry type.

I saw him play in Brampton in the summer of 05. There was a 4 team international tournament of under 21 mens teams at the Hershey Center, leading up to the worlds' in Argentina. I remeber thinking, he looks like he'll be the Darryl Dawkins of Australia. A big, kid with raw unrefined skills at the time. He didn't play much in the 2 games I saw. The Aussies were very impressive, though Canada upset them twicew in the mini tournament. But big Nathan got very few minutes.

Remember only 60 prospects get drafted. You can still invite guys to camp and sign them as FA's.
