What happened the last 2 weeks?

Post#1 » by gangstaff » Sun Jan 27, 2008 2:21 am

Ola Amigos!

I have been away in sunny Mexico on vacation with my wife and two young children and subsequently missed anything Raps related.

Can you kind folks please catch me up on the last 2 weeks worth of important happenings with the Raps? Just a short point form post would be great. Please tell me we traded TJ and Bargs for Kobe

Thanks!

It's been a pretty good 2 weeks. We beat Celtics, Jose and Bosh played out of their minds...

Ah screw it just go read the whole "Make your own Smitch" thread.

Disappointing loss against the Sixers though.

My suggestion would be just to go back and read some of the daily paper threads from the last two weeks.

They will tell you everything you need to know.

Being a Raptor fan is a full-time job. Vacation and family are just excuses.

For shame.

QFTW, I watched Raps vs. Hawk game the night before my final exam. Before anyone jumps, I got perfect in that exam.

Bosh has been on another level, and Jose has been making a case for himself being a reserve to the all-star team. Beating Boston with a Calderon layup within 10secs has been a high point, losing to Phillie in a terrible game has been a low point. Anthony Parker went on to state that "we're good enough of a team to beat anyone, and we're bad enough of a team to lose to anyone"...

my personal feeling over the last stretch is that we've hit the half way point of the season, and barring any sort of catasrophy the season will most likely end with the same standings.

lol. That game sucked for me because that was when TJ went down. I remember staying up at around 11 just to wait for the injury update.

We also have got back to our usual winning ways. Things will only get better for us. From now to the end of the season are easy games to win. I expect for us to win atleast
65-75% of them.

The Leafs went backwards by hiring Cliff Flletcher.

The Raps did not follow them by hiring Isiah Thomas.

I think Sam is settling the rotation a little- with the main bench minutes going to Delfino and Rasho.

75%? Don't get your hopes up too high. A lot of teams have had easy schedules so far, and roughly half way through the season, Boston are the only team in the entire league with a winning percentage of 75% or better (New Orleans are the next closest at 72.1%). There are also only two teams in the east winning more than 60% of their games, so winning even 65% of our remaining games would be pretty great.

It's been an absoleutely outstanding couple weeks in Raptor Land. Before you left the team almost looked stagnent. Hovering around 500. But the past two weeks we've wons some pretty convincing games and the game against the celtics may have been a biggest turning point. Preception is that we're definitely moving in the right direction now.

Jose for the all star team has picked up steam too. Almost to the point where if he doesn't make it they'll be lots and lots of talk about how he was robbed.

Chris bosh is arguably playing the best basketball of his career. Look for him to win player of the month or at least be in the running. Pretty much cementing the fact that he'll be named to the all star game on thursday..

That's about it. AP is playing really solidly now. So is Moon. And bargs looked as though he was going to jump out of his slump apres the celtics game. He didn't quite follow up though. But he did turn a bit of a corner and there now appears to be a light at the end of the tunnel.

Outsie of that it's good to be a Raptor fan right now winning 7 of 9 and an easy schedule coming up. A strong second half of the year is starting to be a staple of this team.

Hope that helps!
