We all get it. You prefer TJ. It has absolutely nothing to do with this thread but that doesn't seem to matter to you.

Now do you have anything else to add on any other subject... ever?

Are you for real or are you just playing dumb? How did I not add to the subject. He asked who we thought was the true MVP and I gave my opinion. YOU on the other hand are the real person who added nothing to the thread other than trying to start another argument.

Now do you have an actual relevant comment or are you gonna try and start another fight?

Watching a game for 10 minutes would clearly show you that Bosh in the MVP of the team. I don't need a mathematical formula to tell me that.

But stats ARE always right. People can misinterpret the, but unless they're outright wrong the stats ARE right.

In this case, it's a FACT that Calderon does better if you choose to measure players on the Raptors by the formula used. That doesn't mean that the formula proves a player is better or an MVP, though, unless a person chooses to misinterpret it that way. This formula clearly doesn't measure who the best player on the floor is. A few of the problems include:

(a) no measure of defense whatsoever
(b) drawing a foul and making both free throws counts the same as making a shot and less than making a 3-pointer, which is a pretty big stretch given that only one option gets the opponent in foul trouble
(c) no account for drawing the defense into the paint
(d) a player gets benefited by gambling for blocks and steals and not worrying about playing defense but penalized for not gambling and taking the odd foul while busting their ass on defense

...and those are just off the top of my head. It's still a useful tool and certainly not "wrong." It just isn't the measure of overall player value that it attempts to be and, like all stats, is something that needs to be complemented by common sense and a little analysis in order to understand it completely.

Easy there. TJ hasn't played since Dec.11, so while you may have offered an opinion, it didn't address the thread because the thread is discussing actual performance. And as much as we should try and stay away from bringing up people's history within threads, you my friend, really didn't address the thread at hand. So let's all chill and move forward while discussing guys that have actually played in the last month or so. If you wish to discuss this further with me, please feel free to send me a PM. But we will not disrupt this thread further.-Shaazzam

In the long run, yes... our MVP is Chris Bosh, but as of right now in time, with TJ out and Jose doing a an amazing job, clearly Jose is our MVP... for now. If something were to happen to Jose, with TJ out, we would be screwed with Dixion/Mart at the point. However, with Bosh out... we will most likely hover around the .500 as we already have with him out as guys step up.

With Ford out, too, and Andrea playing the way he has been, the Raptors would not hover around .500 with Bosh missing. Not even close.

Bosh has always been our MVP. The guy is the only reason we don't attempt 15 free throws a game and the only reason we are an average defensive rebounding team. He also happens to play with one of the most inexperienced front courts in league featuring a C who can't rebound (sorry Andrea) and a SF who just came out of the CBA. He manages to carry the team every night.

Jose and Ford do not draw the kind of attention Chris does. Maybe someday, but not in the past two years.

Don't forget how awful we were playing when Chris was out of the lineup and that little run we made as soon as he came back.

I bet you 70% of the folks who have posted in this thread didn't actually bother to read the article and WoW's definition of "Value" in the MVP acronym used in the article. :)
