Alright, how's this:

Al Harrington, Mickael Pietrus, Matt Barnes, Patrick O'Bryant, 1st round pick for Kidd

In a separate deal, GS trades it's TPE for Collins and Nachbar.

For GS, they'd start Baron and Kidd in the backcourt, letting Kidd guard SGs. Monte Ellis would cover both of their backup minutes. SJax, Kelenna, Webber, Biedrins, Collins, Nachbar would take care of the 3/4/5 minutes, and Jackson and Kelenna can obviously slide over to the 2 if the guards are in foul trouble. Kidd gets to go out west and help out one of the best running offenses in the league.

For NJ, Harrington is still fairly young, and all the other guys are young and cheap and worth adding for rebuilding purposes. They get out of a lot of salary, and are deep enough at the wing for the time being to see what's out there for Vince.

Wouldn't GS have an extremely crowded backcourt with Kidd, Baron, and Monte? One of those guys would get shafted and lose a lot of minutes, and I know Nellie is crazy, but not crazy enough to play three PGs at the same time...

Between the PG and SG spots, there are 96 minutes to go around. Lots of room for having 3 PGs especially when they're all 6'3"+ and two are capable of providing some defense on SGs.

That's terrible for the Nets.

Your're right but I checked every possible scenario for teams that could be interested in Kidd and I can't find anything else better. Kidd's salary (20 Millions) is so huge that a deal is very hard to find:

Denver: Kmart and Nene are 2 of the baddest contracts in all the NBA and they have to include one of them to make a match, NJ will say no.

LAL: As I said, I don't see them giving Odom, he's an underrated and very versatile player on a reasonable contract.

Dal: They don't have that big expiring contract to match Kidd along with a Terry or Harris centered deal. The only big contract they want to trade is Dampier and there's no way NJ wants to pay Dampier 10+ for 3 more years.

Atl: No big contracts to match, they need a 3rd team.

Cleveland: Maybe if they add a 1st rounder or 2 to my proposed deal, NJ could bite. I agree that they don't get any star players but Gooden is a bona-fide starting 4 which NJ don't have, Marshall is a good 1st or 2nd big of the bench and Gibson could provide them a good combo at PG for the future with Marcus. Also, the Nets could be under the cap for the summer of 09 if they let expire Snow, Gooden and Marshall and pick up 2 lottery picks along the way and 1 or 2 additional 1st rounder for future trades/drafts.

Looks like he wants to go to Dallas now, check out the wiretap... I don't see what they could offer NJ aside from Nowitzki and Howard and Harris....

I'd say Jason Terry (he would be expendable) and maybe Dampier ??

The last thing NJ want is long contract. So that wouldn't work.

It's really Thorn's decision on where Kidd is going. So even if Kidd wants to go to Dallas, he doesn't have a lot of say in it.

ORL should be the team going after him. Dwight getting a guaranteed 5 easy dunks a game+all the dunks he gets off rebounds and a few occasional assists =scary. Turkoglu(2 yrs), Battie(2 yrs), Arroyo(exp), Garrity(exp)?

Re: Dallas

Keep in mind that Dallas still owns Van Horn's Bird rights, and that because of his large salary upon his unofficial retirement, he can be signed to quite a large deal without being BYC. Terry and Van Horn resigned for the remainder of this year at $10M fits salarywise. After that you have to make the necessary adjustments in value to even it out, and adjust KVH's salary accordingly to make it all work.

Yahoo has some dirty laundry on its front page about Kidd, Thorn and Carter where Kidd blames Carter and Thorn says no one wants Carter.

Ugly stuff

If I am not mistaken, Bird Rights expired after a season. So I don't think Dallas still has bird rights on Van Horn.

The Nets tried to do just that but even the Knicks didn't want him.

I just cant see what Dallas would offer, they dont have much that NJ would want. Maybe if they find a 3rd team.

Privately Kidd blames Carter's lack of competitiveness.... Pretty funny.

It seems like only yesterday I was on these boards saying that Vince would never lead a team to the finals and you were bashing me because you just got the Dream and were going to win it all.

I just have a quick question... maybe someone touched on it beforehand or even somewhere in this thread (I cant be bothered to go through 9 pages).

If Jason Kidd is traded to Dallas or to LA or any team in the West in the next few days... what happens to his spot in the all-star game?

Does he get switched over to the West? Does he start over Iverson (Kidd had more total votes - but that wouldnt be fair)? Does he just not play at all?
Good Lord, the little stoner's got a point.

I know if he was traded earlier then his voted would have switched over.

But he's already been named an Eastern Conference starter so I think he's basically locked in.
