At times, the ushers in the lower bowl write down the empty seats that are in their section, and they check them throughout the game to make sure no one has come down.

I strongly dislike people not sitting in their proper seats. I have had numerous parts of games ruined because an entire row had to be rearranged.

But I am also nervous to break any kind of law, so that is where I am coming from.

I would be pretty nervous too, especially if the ushers have to tell you to leave infront of people which ruins the game for everyone. IMO it's not worth it for 24 mins of basketball (assuming you sneak down at the half) because of the embarassment it may cause.

There's also a logical way of thinking about it. If you're watching a few seats like a hawk that are unoccupied with the intent of sitting there after the half, I'm pretty sure the usher (who's job it actually is to monitor seats) is doing the same thing to make sure clowns don't sneak down there. But it has worked for a few people here it seems so keep up the good work.

Just wait till the game starts or do it inbetween quarters after the first dont be the only one up at the time once your in them stay in them DONT MOVE.

Ive done it and some ushers are really bad but if the same usher who told you where your seat was is the one who spots you.. might have a problem but make shore no one comes late to the game where your at.

i used to do it before, but not anymore, i'm tired of getting caught and have to walk all the way back up again and missing good plays. besides i ususally get the 309/321 section so is not bad even if is upperbowl.

Like most people i go down at the half and search for seats at the beginning. just act normal then youre fine....i always get caught cus i look like a kid. lol

The best i ever hopped are the silver seats.

My worse experience was this guy who sat behide me question if those seats are mine, i told him to mind his own fking business but he stepped on the seat and i have no choice to sit on it since thts the only seat left while my friends took the rest. I still remember that cocky bastard.

I used to seat hop all the time at the Skydome. A friend of mine is so good at looking important and pissed off we used to crash company boxes. In one game we sat in the bleachers, company box, front row behind home plate and the 200 club seats.

As for the ACC, its harder because the lower side prime are mostly season ticket holders and the ushers know many of the people. Often they will be tipped off by other people in seats. The usher in my area always gives me a hug when we show up and has been so nice to us. When I brought my son (who was 1.5 at the time) she got him mini earplugs to help him adjust to the loudness of the place. Also be careful cause may of the good seat people are busy sipping the cappucino after dinner in the Platinum Club and don't make it back to their seats until about halfway into the third quarter.

I don't seat hop, but I always find people sitting in my seats when I get there since I'm always late. I had balcony primes for the first Celtic game of the season and had to kick 2 guys outta our seats. They moved to the row behind us and got kicked outta their seats in like 5 minutes. By the 4th quarter one was sitting in a single seat, the other sat on the stairs

Its simple actually. The only thing you do is you keep an eye on the seats for the 1st quarter and if their not there by the beginning of the 2nd then get out of your seat go get some "food" and take them. Make sure the usher doesn't see you in your original seat.

It happened to me last year. I had crappy seats, like section 310-320 so at halftime I avoided the ushers and stayed in a huge crowd. Then when the 2nd quarter was starting I quickly ran down...to the lower bowl and sat there for the rest of the game. It's not very complicated, just be very slick about it.

haha i've done it once with my gf at the Pistons game two seasons ago when we still had Mike James. man, it was a good experience!! We were so close to the bench, we can hear Sam yelling at Joey! lol.

funny thing was, we actually "spotted" an open row, but it was no longer empty by the time we got there. (or we mixed the entry # up). so we had no choice but to keep going closer to the bench, finally, we saw two open seats in a crowded row, we just went in and got our asses down. =)

My style is always business-casualish. and I look 3 years older than I actually am. =) for an asian, thats amazing. =) so it all helped i assume.

I used to move down at halftime all the time a couple of years ago.

Last year I had front row balconies, so I didn't feel the need to move.

The best was when we moved down and found ourselves 2 rows in front of Glen Grunwald. He gave us a real funny look as he walked up to his seat.

i seat-hopped A LOT during the raps' losing seasons. One time I remember an usher directly looking at me but never said a word. And i was suprised considering i moved down to a seat located 8 rows from the raptors bench. They were really nice seats, too bad raps played like crap then!

I've always wanted to do it, but I always chicken out last minute. The ushers at the ACC look so menacing. The ones at Jays games are a lot nicer. Went to a Jays game last year and my girlfriend and I had these horrible one-seaters by the wall, and the usher actually came down and told us to move to the lowest seats of that section.

Did it all the time last year, not so much this year simply because I can't bother since my view is pretty good from 309. It's a piece of cake though, scout the 1st half, pick a section with lots of outs (so you can move left or right) should the rightful ticket holders return to their seats. Success rate is almost perfect as long as you don't get too greedy and try to move too far down. And act like you belong.

The game against the Wiz there were maybe 10 kids down for something but they werent more than 17 y/o all wearing their Moores suits.. They tried the tactic of looking like the "belonged". Cept they were really over playing it and got tossed and they actually made a really big scene and the yellow jackets called in reinforcements...pretty comical

having season seats, I see it all the time, when people try and sneak down, security kicks them out, if I've heard that sometimes they actually kick them out of the building ... the security guards are pretty familiar with the season ticket holders in the lower bowl ...
