Gasol is one of the softest players in the league.
He needs two or three players to set up screens for him to be effective.
He will not be successful in the triangle

that trade would cripple our depth, specifically at the wing positions. I do have however think if you do sub one of the wings with a first it's do able

**** - when Andrea is clicking (like he has been that last few games) he might be better the Gasol now.

Any deal including Bargs for Gasol is a no-go. Andrea is still one of the best prospects in the league and when you see what the Lakers gave Memphis there is no way you include Bargs into it.

Unless Memphis gives you back another good prospect but they won't give you Gay, Navarro nor Conley.

The more I would have given is:

Rasho
Graham
Moon
2 1st round picks

Well, if you look at it this way we could resign the expiring contracts at the end of the year.

Thats alot to give up we would end up short benched and its not like the Celtics we have no big 3.

It is too early to give up on Bargnani.

PLUS, MEMPHIS WAS VERY FIRM about strictly wanting CAP SPACE in return.

Gasol would be a nice addition to any team ... but in the Raptors case, I'm not sure that "gutting" the team to get him would have made them better ...

OK--if you choose to only look at Bargs's good games, then he MIGHT be better than Gasol's average games (ignoring rebounding, shot blocking and non-scoring criteria). His best 5 game stretch is 18/5 this year. Gaslol's best five game stretch is 28/12 this year. They are not even in the same ballpark.

So essentially Ford proposed trading away half our team for Gasol. I like Pau, but Bargnani just recently has started to play like he is capable of again because his shot is dropping now. He traded away half the team, including two starting players, which absolutely guts the SG/SF position on the team.
