I think he will continue to develop.

call me a homer or a die hard fan, but if Jose gets constant 35 mins gig as a starter on a winning team, he'll be an MVP candidate in a few years.. Strangely, his career graph is taking the steve Nash route so far.. Playing alongside guards like Kidd on the same team, then getting his own team eventually receiving league wide attention etc.. This guy will go places.. I can see it..

He has a LOT to improve on.. and we have seen him getting better and better with every passing game..

Jose's career paralell's Nash a lot...like it or not..

he's getting in his grove as he gets older..i think a 32 year old Calderon will be a lot better than the 26 year old one

Not even close to reaching his peak. The dude is very unselfish and crazily efficient. As long as that doesn't change, he'll always be a very effective PG. That being said, he racks up the majority of his assists by just swinging the ball on the perimeter... so when the opposing defense takes away our open shot opportunities we really struggle. The more Calderon attempts to break down the opposing defense, the better he and the Raps will be. And honestly, I don't see how his defense can get anything but better. If he improves his defensive IQ at all, it will have a HUGE effect on our team's success. Too many times we just trade baskets because of his blown assignments. He plays with a lot of passion and effort, so I'm confident we'll see a much improved Calderon next season.

I think he can improve offensivly. We useto see him break down defense by himself a lot more. In Boston he proved he's still capible of getting by his man without needing a pick, and breaking down defences in the lane. I don't exactly know why he doesn't do that more often, but if he does he would be better imo.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that I think the situation with him and TJ here might not allow either of them to reach their peaks... Great PG's usually need to be given the keys to the team and allowed to play heavy minutes.. Having a player just as good as you might make you play to your best in order to compete, but the fact is your minutes will always be cut significantly, and having another good option allows the coach to bench you anytime instead of being allowed to play through your mistakes and learn from them...

That being said, I could care less about either of their peaks, as long as they are good enough to lead us to a ring... Its all about the team, first and foremost...

An absolute disaster on the defensive end.
