Listening to the last part of BC's interview, I get the sense that he is hoping some team does not offer Jose 9-10 mil. Now, I don't know what he means by "equittable" deal. Could it be 7-8 mil. that Colangelo plans to offer him similar to a Barbosa deal. He really emphasized how Calderon has changed his view on the team in terms of the future. It sounds like Calderon wasn't even on the team's radar in terms of the future. Just to sum up what I made of this part of the interview....Colangelo is basically saying "we want to keep Jose, but at the right price". IMO he's gone if some team offers him 9-10 mil.

This sounds a lot like the Joe Johnson RFA situation and BC did a pretty great job with that one. Don't forget that Phoenix has Atlanta's first this year and sold what became the Rondo pick to Boston if I'm not mistaken. All that and Diaw from the JJ trade, and Jose is just about as hot a commodity as Joe was at the time.
