One could have been done by anyone in the contest, and a bunch of guys in the stands. One couldn't. And it got an 8. Chocolate thunder had himself a senior moment.

Well Dawkins was the only one to give Moon a 10 on his first one, so it all evened out.
and Green did a windmill off the "ladder-oop", not just a catch and slam. Having Mccants on top of the ladder showed off how high he can jump, just like Moon's showed off how far he can jump, so what's the difference between showing off height and length of jump?
I thought Moon's first dunk deserved at least a couple 10s judging by the way some of the scoring went down, but that's subjective and up for debate. An 8 was obviously harsh on a left-handed, near FT-line, bounce-pass slam, you can't argue with that, can you?
I'm not marginalizing the windmill but those have become pretty standard, much like the between-the-legs and FT-line. The impressive part about Moon's first dunk was that it was left-handed and off-the-bounce rather than just the generic Brent Barry run-up and slam.
The ladder-oop wasn't impressive because it was an easy dunk to do - if you notice the pass from McCants wasn't even high. He caught it when the ball was going down, not up. I've seen in-game alley-oops that are higher (e.g.: one in the Rook/Soph game by Rudy Gay). I thought Rudy Gay's second dunk was better and the judges should've given him higher, it was very similar to Howard's behind the backboard except it was a slightly more convenient angle.
But this is all subjective stuff and up for great debate.
One beef I have is that the judges should see a replay before giving their score, that's the only real way you can get an impression of how good/bad the dunk was.

Read slam dunk on wikipedia "A slam dunk (or simply a dunk) is a type of basketball shot that is performed when a player jumps in the air and manually powers the ball downward through the basket with one or both of his hands."
Touching the rim is optional.
Yeah, I am not sure where you guys heard that you have to touch the rim to dunk the ball. Watch a few NBA or college games and you will see quite a few dunks where the player doesn't touch the rim at all. Howards superman dunk, and Keon's dunk from a few years ago are actually dunks. Whether you want to think differently yourself is fine, but by definition they still are dunks.
Man, we talkin' bout practice

I must ask in the future that you contain your trolls a bit better, so that you don't end up looking like you have during the past 24 hours.
Excuse me, folk. Why do you think we should care about what some jackass trolls do? If you want to paint us all with one brush, that's your problem. Just like "controlling" the trolls is a problem for mods on your board.

LOL at you for quoting a guy who quoted Wikipedia. Go check Keon's dunk again, he touched the rim:

I'm referring more to the general board, where your fellow Raptors fans spent all of last night making you all look terrible.
Meh, whatever, I was just giving you a heads up...

I'm not sure what you want us to do..?

We've tried pep talks and Zanax (at the same time!), but nothing seems to work. Ideas?

They made themselves look terrible, not "you all". If you want to group every person on the largest RealGM board together and shake your head at everyone, that's your own problem. Why the hell would anyone here need a heads up? You want an apology for the behaviour of people no one here has any control over? Good luck with that.

I don't think there is much of a problem with Dwight not touching the rim, throwing the ball downward without actually touching the rim can still be a dunk. But I think your hand should be just over the rim or at least somewhere near the top of the rim when you throw it in. On Dwight's "dunk" last night, he was a good distance away from the rim when he threw it in. From the way it looked, I don't think he had any chance making it all the way to the rim.

The following methods have been attempted:
-Soothing blue font warning posters not to troll prior to events.
-Threats of electrocution via the Internet.
-Threats that affection will be withheld.
-Outright pleading.
Mods and posters alike on this board have very little say in the actions of other posters. We're not necromancers, calling forth an army of zombie trolls to invade, then cackling at the results. Take it up with the mods on whichever board is having a problem.

**** your asterisk.
If dwights superman was a dunk this was also a dunk
