Off topic.. but is he even coming back this season, or even playoffs?

My buddy hates him for some reason..but I think we really miss his toughness and rebounding. And I'm not the biggest fan, but he brings something to the table, the Raps desperately need.

It's doubtful. He's rushed his return before, but that was for his country. I doubt he'd risk his health for his club team.

There was already a long thread devoted to the argument " hasn't made a meaningful transaction in months" and how ludicrous it it. WHat do you think he does all day and night? Shop for big collars, drive Ferrari's, and seducing the women of T DOT? He does enough behind the scences that does not show up on the waiver wire, he's President for god sakes. Oh wait is that it, el presidente?

I constantly "bash" BC? Can you please point me to the posts where I've "bashed" him? The most I've ever said was that people tend to look him in a heavenly light more than they ought to, I'm the first one to give him (and Babcock to some extent) credit for bringing us out of our rut.

And yeah, for what it's worth he hasn't made a meaningful transaction in months.

Also, my nickname has nothing to do with president of the Raptors, it's more to do with Castro.

Geez...

Quit bashin' BC already.

I love him not only for his personnel decisions but also because he's so dreamy.

It's funny people keep saying this: We don't want to take back salary beyond this year in a trade. It's just as likely we will let his contract expire. We're going to be close to the luxury tax next year if we sign both Calderon and Delfino, use our first round draft choice and bring over Ukic (or use a bit to shore up the frontcourt with a banger-type big man.)

I really don't expect us to do much by this trade deadline, but rather tinker, or do nothing. If we can swap expiring contracts, Dixon for another guy who will be a free agent, I can see us doing so. But don't expect much at all.

I see the same thing happening as well dagger. Got to think that BC is plugging a few salary figures in where Jose's contract is concerned. With Juan's and DMart's contract that is close to $5M so that should cover Carlos' contract (mid level or there abouts). Jose should be around $6-7M and having said that, you have to wonder if BC will bring over Rocko or not. He may use his picks to fill the void of third PG instead to save on a possible luxury tax hit.

we should trade him for a 2nd round pick.....that way, his contract is off the books and we get a 2nd rounder in return....and if the pick doesn't work out...we simply cut him.

if we can draft Nathan Jawai and test him as a viable backup C, then we could be in a good position, should be pan out.

The more I think about it , he's better off just expiring and coming off the cap.

I'd let him rot.

He's actually a terrible one dimensional player. He's a shooter, but he's pretty bad at doing that too this year. I like his fast hands on defence. However, he can't defend SGs and I don't want him playing the point.

His court awareness and passing ability is one of the worst I've seen in my life. I am not even overreacting. He just doesn't have a clue about how to pass the ball. Most of the time, he can't even make a pass so he resorts to shooting a highly contested shot. God awful.

He seems like a good guy - he has no real trade value, but I'd be all for trading him for another expiring just to get him some more play time. He'd look good on the hornets.

I'm sure GMs around the league are salivating over Dixon-trade possibilities

The Answer! wrote:Say the Kidd deal goes through, would we still be able to acquire him from Jersey or would certain restrictions apply? I mean, Rasheed Wallace was traded twice at the deadline back in 2004.

I found this in the CBA FAQ

In addition, teams cannot trade players under the following circumstances:

For two months after receiving the player in trade or claiming him off waivers, if the player is being traded in combination with other players. However, the team is free to trade the player by himself (not packaged with other players) immediately. This restriction applies only to teams over the salary cap. (Also see question number 72 for a special case where players can be traded together in less than two months.)

There seems to be a lot of confusion about the first bullet item above. Many media reports mistakenly say that a player cannot be re-traded for two months under any circumstances, even by himself. This is not true -- Danny Manning's trade from Phoenix to Orlando, and soon thereafter to Milwaukee is one example of the correct application of this trade rule. Other media reports confuse the sign-and-trade rule with this one, claiming that the player can be re-traded within 48 hours or after 60 days, but not in between.

Awesome, thanks WD-40. I'd love to possibly swing a deal for Diop, then. Dixon + Martin?
