Whats the point of a deal like this (assuming we dont get a pick)? Is there an end-game here?

Since I like both teams I'm hoping both sides benefit and I'm not sure if Calderon is that much of an upgrade over Bibby. But with Josh Smith and Horford around - Atlanta can easily mask Jose's defensive deficiency and he would facilitate better than Bibby in getting ppl involved. Bibby is still a solid scorer though - not a huge difference.

For Raptors, Bibby is like an old Bayless. Scorer but not a distributor. Why have two PGs like that on the same squad? I would rather have Calderon who would at least set-up a Bargs or a Derozan or a Davis. Meh.

hmmm. i guess this would give us a little more 2012 cap space, if that is what BC is aiming for. and it does give us another backup bruiser. and it probably helps the tank effort. i guess it makes the Hawks a little better right now (if Jose can get his foot right).

somewhat realistic i guess. would be a little tastier from our end if we got to switch the miami pick with the Hawks' pick.

Another completely useless deal. God knows scrubangelo isn't doing anything remotely useful with the money that would be saved. More money for the pension fund though, nice.

We could probably flip him pretty easily. The Knicks, for instance, have been pretty desperate to get a backup point guard.

Actually, we'd be adding salary this year and next. The $4 mil savings would come in the 2012 season.

There has to be something more here.

Not sure how I feel about this.

The salary relief would be amazing, but he's gotta have more value than Bibby. A first round pick from ATL would be in the 16-21 if the season ended today.

Mike Bibby is a shadow of his former self. He does one thing well now and that's shooting threes.

The Raptors would save -- count it, 4 million dollars, and that's in 2 years.

Not a big fan of it, unlike the Jack trade, we also got a decent young player with some potential as well. Saving 4 mil in 2 years isn't that appealing. Plus Bibby is worse than Calderon in pretty much every aspect, and that includes his horrendous defense.
