Anyone here hoping we go after Wilson Chandler to fill that massive gap at the 3 spot?

Sounds like a good stopgap move that could help us go for 9th.

i dont get it. So we pick our future C and now were going after one in FA.

C / Val
Bargnani / Ed / Amir

so we need to clearly trade someone.

First, Valanciunas might stay overseas for a year. Secondly, if we went for a vet like Chandler, he'd be a good mentor for Val and given Chandler's age, Val would be ready to replace him as full-time starter around the time Chandler is moving into basketball old age. I don't see the contradiction some of you see.

Neither do I. Even if Val developed quickly and was ready to start in just a year or two and we had two starting caliber centres, who cares? You could always trade one of them to fill a need at another spot.

Signing a FA center is instant gratification and we don't want that.

Not at all, especially since next year's draft class is loaded at SF.

1. Take a deep breath.

2. Repeat.

3. Consider this...... Teams need veterans, they help the young guys learn how to win and be professionals. We just drafted a project Center who probably won't even play here next season.

Do we want to
A) do nothing to improve our big rotation for next season?
B) assume that Jonas can just be thrown into the fire when he does arrive here?
C) have a plan to make the team better?

Also, in the post draft talk, I haven't heard any "excitement" from BC about pairing Jonas and Andrea together, which would seem like a topic that he would bring up if it was his intention. I think that Andrea is now very much on the block if he can't show major improvement under Casey, and that the future front court might very well be Davis and Jonas.

In the grand scheme of things I just want to be entertained. Losing teams = not entertained. I want my team to win, the rebuilding part is up to the GM. I'm not going to look at the situation 3 years down the line because entertainment has to do with immediate gratification.

We will get our PG in next year's draft. Not sold on Knight or Walker.

The only PG worth taking last next was Irving.

How the hell do you know what those players are thinking? Tired of reading posts from folks that think they know what players or GMs are thinking... Send your resume to MLSE and plead your case...

DAMN, the kid hasn't played a game, and most haven't see him play and yet everyone is writing him off... Amazing, the mindset of some posters.

Who cares what Brandon Knight is thinking...at the beginning of the year, he was not even projected to go top ten...He is a PROJECT, he wouldn't be a savior for the Raptors next year...you have to wait at least 1-2 years for him to develops, and that's assuming his game will improve.

Hopefully it's one of the 4 mentioned in the OP. If it's none of them, and rather someone like Dalembert, screw it... I'd rather take my chances with what the Raptors have got.

And this doesn't reflect much on the drafting of Valan. He's supposedly a project -- probably going to stay overseas for a year, and if not, he'll be sent down to the D-League or just glued to the bench for a year or so. He probably wont be a legit starting C in this league for another 3 years. During that time, this team could still use a legit C to help out Bargs. Bring in Jordan, Gasol, Nene, or Chandler, and if Bargs still doesn't seem to improve, trade Bargs and see if one of these Cs can play with Valan. when he's ready. As long as it doesn't completely mess up the Raptors' cap situation, you can never have too many assets -- especially bigs.
Good Lord, the little stoner's got a point.

Man... someone's gotta get traded. Even Joey Dorsey is in Toronto right now. If they plan on keeping him..

Dorsey
Ed
Amir
Bargs
Jonas
FA C?

and then who knows what's going to happen with Alabi and Ajinca.

Alabi most likely waived and Ajinca? We all know he won't be with us for sure.
