This isn't even a rumor; the guy is simply stating that certain people within the Jazz would like to acquire both Kanter and Knight (with Toronto being the only trade option). Who the **** wouldn't want both? Put simply: not happening.

Rumour.

Harris or Hayward are in play or there is no enticement. People should not forget Bayless is also an asset like any other player. If BC re-ups Barbosa then Bayless easily could be dealt making way for someone like Harris.

The teenaged e-thuggers would lose their minds if BC traded for Gordo.

I'd love to see it happen for that reason alone.

Bargnani, Kleiza, Calderon and #5 for Jefferson, Harris and #12 (Biyombo)? Sign me up.

I'd rather still be involved in the draft.

5 for 12 and GSW2012?

Well he provides the excuse to take Biyombo at 12 and addresses 3 point shooting if nothing else.

If you can't get Knight and actually think/believe/hope/pray Bayless is better at the point than Kemba Gordo is good value for delivering them Knight. If they think that is too rich I'd gladly just take Knight or Kanter or Kemba. Leveraging another player to move down makes sense. Clearly I think Knight should be option 1 followed by Kanter and only if those 2 are gone would I can consider Hayward/Biyombo to be a superior move. Harris/Biyombo is a very good day for BC. The interesting thing for them is they could just take Kanter or Val at 3 and then with their 12 reach for Burks or Iman Shumpert. They still get assets without giving anything up. I doubt we have interest in any of their veteran bigs.

has the league given up on favors after one season? i would look into that guy even if we have a zillion pf's. he was a very high pick in a pretty good draft.
Sam wasn't the solution, but he wasn't the problem either

The Jazz likely wouldn't trade Favors for anyone in this draft. He's a longterm, high-upside big man with a lot of defensive potential, and he hasn't disappointed thus far.

If we can get CJ Miles + future pick(s) while dumping Kleiza I'd do it.

I'd definitely explore moving Leandro Barbosa for the 12th pick. Utah lacks a wing scorer, so he'd be a nice fit there for them. That kind of trade could also prevent them from taking Knight at 3, which is kind of a nifty way of getting him to fall to us at 5.

With the 12th I'd definitely gamble on Biyombo if he's there (which I think he will be, I don't see Detroit taking him, and they're the only team ahead of 12 that has any use for him really). If he busts, we just throw him in the D-League and wait for his rookie contract to expire. If not, we have a great defensive C/PF to roll out off the bench or possibly even start.

^^ we can't deal Leandro right now, he has to either opt out, opt in, or sign a new deal, and I don't think any of those is going to happen before the draft.

He was also one of the cornerpieces of the Deron Williams trade. No way they ship him out until he either proves himself in either direction - not better than Millsap/Jefferson, or better than one of them enough to bring in a good piece at another position.

Millsap/Jefferson/Harris are the best pieces on the Jazz that would be available IMO.

Sorry I forgot to mention that we'd have to resign him. And now that I think about it, it is kind of unlikely that happens before the draft.

So... we're taking Al Jeff and 12th for our 5th? I don't like this trade at all, I want no part of al jeff (we are stacked with PF's already, and I don't really see him as a 5) and the 12th pick, I'm positively sure Biyombo will be gone by then. If so, then who we draft? Jimmer? lol

I'm not taking Al Jefferson to build around Bargnani at power forward.

I would absolutely rejoice if BC turned our #5 into Favors, hell they can keep their #12 pick too  lol...

Al Jefferson + 12 for Bargnani and 5?

Ring it up from downtown.

And then what trade our new big disaster at the deadline for an expiring small forward and a point guard on a bad contract and while we're at it throw in a first? I think if there is a lesson from the JO fiasco it is do not trade for a broken down past his prime big who is costly to acquire, to maintain and to dispense with. That would cement a legacy of more often than not atrocious deal making. The one thing I'm comfortable about here is BC would never trade Bargs for Al Jeff especially when there is a net negative return on the draft selection. We would be aiming for Harris or Hayward or no deal. Favors is a pipe dream and a good chuckle from the Jazz board. The price for Favors would be steep.

I would make the trade if it was Jefferson and 12 for TPE and 5

What is the downside in acquiring a 25/26 year old centre Proven scorer with solid defensive numbers - 6.10 280lbs that averages 19 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks and played all 82 games in the West. Those are Bosh type numbers with a close to the basket game.

If there is anything out there better you are only going to get it after clicking your heels three times, dousing yourself in unicorn blood and saying there is no place like home.

Most likely a bogus rumour but if true best deal for a Bargs or Davis front court pairing.

I don't understand the hate for Jefferson, the guy averages nearly 20/10/2 and does it far more effeciently then Andrea Bargnani. He's only 26 years old and he has played 158 out of a possible 164 games the past two seasons. I'm not crazy about his contract but at least we wouldn't be locked long term, plus it's not like we're paying Bargnani peanuts either. If we can get the guy we want at #12 instead of at #5, and at the same time upgrade our frontcourt, I'm interested. Obviously there's a lot missing in this deal, but the supposed Al Jefferson+12 for Bargnani+5 trade doesn't sound terrible to me.
