BD12 wrote:Nope, wrong answer. The downward spiral started to occur in the 2007 offseason. He decided to spend the MLE on Jason Kapono to be our future SF but he got benched for Jamario Moon 6 games into the season. We went from Atlantic Division Champs to 6th seed that season (wasn't even a winning season as we had a .500 record). Then the Bosh thing happened and that was when he should've been fired.

THe bosh situation was a bummer. He was playing at an elite level, and Bosh gave absolutely no indication of leaving, so ofcourse BC was gonna try to retain him, and at the time none of you really faulted him for that. Now your all over his nuts.

Despite BCs mistakes, I would take BC over an MLSE chosen gm next yr and beyond!! Its evident most of you would prefer the latter. I dread and am more scared of MLSE than BC. Not extending BC would be a huge mistake.

BCforthewin is clearly trolling. No Raptors fan who wants the team to be successful would want Colangelo as our GM.

Yes he should be fired. But replacing him with an interim GM as in Stefanski is a lost cause.

If you are going to fire B.C, you have to fire his entire management team. That includes Stefanski, Eversley, Jim Kelly (is he still here? should have been fired 10 years ago), Alex Rucker, + whoever else. The only guy I can see not getting the axe is fruitman or whatever, he doesn't seem to be relevant in the fold right now.

I would take anyone over BC. If that person failed, we would be where we are right now. A team with no real star, overpaid mediocre and crappy players. Oh and being the laughing stock in the NBA.

Seriously anyone who wants BC as the GM still is either delusional, stubborn, idiot or just trolling.

I think at this point an inanimate carbon rod could do a better job as GM.

I am overcome with emotion. I never thought this day would come when all of Raptor Nation finally had enough of BC's complete mis-management of the club.

I have felt so alone, battling hordes of BC zombies created by his evil Kool-Aid. But now, at last, I have an ARMY.

The end of the BC era is near. And HOPE can finally return to Toronto. We need to crank up the pressure on MLSE in every channel possible. Let them know how angry the fan base is, get the media writing about his failures.

Fire him, his replacement shouldn't matter. This guy does very little good to be paid the salary he gets. Where's MLSE's corporate governance?

Clearly, you let him finish out his contract... If he cant use our assets and expirings to net us a game changer by the end of this year, you send him on his way....

Funny enough, you know he'd have a new job in a week.

Wham! wrote:Well he never really upgraded the team this offseason in a way even close to what it needed.

I'm not being dramatic, I'm sick watching this overhyped team. Watched 1 Q of the OKC game and it was obvious a blowout was coming..today I had to check the score before tuning in cause I didn't want to waste another couple hours of my time..glad I did. I have better things to do than care about this mess...if a big trade happens or maybe we sort out the lineup in an effective way I'll be back, but until then it's just self-abuse. BC will have to pull something off to save his job.

You probably reacted a few years after I did. I had this exact same take a couple of years ago when I realized Colangelo was going to be here for a while and he had absolutely no clue what he was doing. I went from someone who watched every single Raptors game to a guy who didn't watch even one entire game that season. Now I tune in simply to see how much Derozan and Davis have improved. Colangelo has absolutely no clue about basketball. None.

Yeah, in 2009, back when it became more than clear he was out of his element.

I've been a BC supporter for a while, and even when he signed Landry I thought I'd wait until the season plays out to see how Ruckers advanced analytics plays out.

I've seen enough, it's time for a change, Landry is the last straw as far as I'm concerned.

BD12 wrote:Same old excuses. You need to WIN in order to attract free agents. There has only been losing the past 4 seasons.

Other teams have made changes. Rob Hennigan (assistant GM of OKC), Danny Ferry (previously worked with Cavs/Spurs) and Dennis Lindsey (Utah GM) were hired recently. So there are candidates out there...

You also didn't address the downward spiral from 3rd seed in his first season to four consecutive lottery seasons. Thats on our GM no?

how do yo propose to win???

The down spiral after a good start is due to Bosh unprofessionalism...to say the least. BC was put in an impossible to win place since there was no way for BC to trade CB (unless CB was upfront with his intentions, and as we know he was not, hence the nasty comments BC made about CB).

This is nonsense. The writing was on the wall for Bosh's exit over a year before that (for those that weren't being willfully ignorant about the situation, anyway). Colangelo had more than enough time to get something for him and chose not to based on a pipedream.

It was the kind of colossal mismanagement that has plagued this organization since he arrived and it would have been the end for him if the team had a different ownership that actually cared about winning.

I would just let him be President. He has to much credibility and gravitas around the league it seems. Just take player decisions out of his hands. Get a smart guy and make him tell BC who to call.

Let's turn BC into a politician basically.
