Nuking the team in one move:

Toronto trades:
Kyle Lowry
Demar Derozan
Rudy Gay

Milwaukee trades:
Ekpe Udoh
Drew Gooden
Luc Mbah a Moute
2013 MIL 1st (#15)

I think that deal could have some appeal to Milwaukee. Kohl is all about making the playoffs and short term appeasement, with Lowry, Derozan, Gay, Ilyasova and Sanders, he gets that. Toronto presses reset on our salary problems and gets a 1st to start rebuilding with.

I dont think I could ever be a Raptors fan if that was our team next year. Especially if we missed out on Wiggins lol. Tanking is not the way.

You call that "short term appeasement"? You have just turned MIL into a 3rd seed in the East. If that move goes down everyone on this board will have "FIRE MU" in their sigs.

No they would all have Draft Wiggins in their sigs. That is a straight up tank trade and would be smart long term

Right idea - but i think we could get more value moving them to different teams.

to Toronto:
#3 Ben Mclemore
Trevor Ariza
Kris Humphries

to Washington:
Rudy Gay
Amir Johnson
Demar Derozan
#23

To BKN:
Emeka Okafor

We then proceed to amnesty or trade Bargnani for a low pick of some sort. We go tank mode next season for Wiggins/Parker

Val/Gray
Hump/Acy
Ariza
Mclemore/Fields
Lowry/Telfair
2016 GMAT Blazers

Howard/Nene/
Griffin/M.Leonard/T.Jones
Porter/Marc.Morris/J.Johnson
McCollum/Stauskas/Thompson/Seldon
Lillard/Bayless/DeColo

A lot of you posters come up with some idea to blow this team up, insert the word tank, and then insert wiggans or parker as if we are somehow guaranteed for the 1st or 2nd selection.

You guys come up with some idea and then what happens if we end up 3-10??? Julius Randle? Andrew Harrison? Fa real???

I'd much rather Rudy, Demar, Amir, Val, lowry + 15-17th pick Rather than Val, + 3-10 + scubs...........

Some on the trade board (Kings fans) posted the Kings could possibly have interest in Lowry - if we could get their #7 it would be genius of Ujiri, especially if he can get someone like Trey Burke or Anthony Bennett. Burke would be ideal for me with this squad.

A lot of posters come up with these ideas about how to make this team a championship contender, insert the word organic growth, and then assume we will be able to fill the other numerous holes through trade, if need be.

You guys come up with these ideas, but what if Rudy and Kyle don't re-sign and/or we are unable to address our issues through trade?

I'd much rather build with Val, 1-7 2014 draft pick, lotto 2015 draft pick and the good young players acquired through the trading of our current core, than hope for Val to turn into a superstar and others to progress to an above-average level.

How about this trade?

An inner division trade.

Knicks get: Rudy Gay & Spencer Hawes
76ers get: Tyson Chandler, Landry Fields & James White
Raptors get: Evan Turner, Jason Richardson & Marcus Camby.

Rudy Gay gets to finally become what he is, a 2nd option.
76ers finally get a legitimate big & could S&T Bynum elsewhere.
Raptors get a solid young piece in Turner, to go with Camby's expiring & dropping Fields. Jason Richardson can be solid off the bench.

Figure it helps towards the tank also. If Richardson isn't wanted, maybe package him with Bargnani & see if you can snag Ben Gordon's expiring?

what are you high on? Kevin Love ??? It'd be a dream to see him come to toronto without trading our whole franchise. Small contract, superstar too? For a bag of primo pasta and potential?

I think a very good trade check it out, even though I'm gonna write it out to explain.

3 Team trade
From Toronto: Lowry, Derozan, Bargnani, Acy
To Toronto: Thornton, Berea, Outlaw, Steisma, SAC 2013 1st(7th pick), Twolves 2013 1st(9th pick)
Raptors do this deal to get rid of barg's and dd's contracts, also giving up lowry. Also receiving two 1sts to try and grab any two of Burke, Muhhamad, Zeller, Bennett, or McCollum. Amnesty Kleiza sign a MLE Big(Landry, B.Wright, Hansborough, and K-Mart) or Sign and trade for Millsap.

From SAC: Thornton, Thomas, Outlaw, 2013 1st
To SAC: Lowry, Bargnani, Twolves 2nd round pick
SAC does this to put Bargs next to Cousins so he can space the floor for him and Tyreke. Lowry I think would also help that team as a leader.

From Twolves: Berea, Steisma, 2013 1st, 2nd round pick
To Twolves: Derozan, Thomas, Acy
Minnesota finally gets a 2 guard that they desperately been seeking in DeRozan. Who I thinks fits them good as they shoot threes and have post players and no drivers. Thomas gives them a key backup pg off the bench and Acy is a good cheap reserve for them as they have been experimenting with d leaguers. I believe this finally gets them out the lottery.

2013/2014 Lineup
Burke/Berea
Thornton/Ross/Muhammad?
Gay/Fields/Outlaw
Amir/Bennett?/Zeller?/or MLE Big
Valanciunas/Gray/Steisma

Good group going forward could tank or make the playoffs depending which rookies we get and if this group can be a tight nit group. Ross or Muhammad could start if he's picked. Thornton is better suited for a sixth man even tho his outside shooting could help Gay's game.
Image
Raptors list of rookies should be PJ3, Lillard, Rivers, Waiters, or Harkless.
I say draft Lillard, Waiters, or Harkless.

If it's Trey Burke, I do that in a heartbeat.

I don't see him being outside of the top 5 in a draft like this.

But these are the kind of deals I would kill for. Expand that to include Gay for Cousins + scraps and I would be on cloud nine. Not likely I know.

These trades are why none of us are the GM. If your going to tank you have to be really bad. Remember outside of the top 4 picks next year, the draft really is unknown. None of us have seen guys like Julius Randle play.

The chances to sign Wiggins in free agency will be there. We dont even know if the kid will be that productive in college yet, who knows, maybe he underwhelms.

Return to Toronto Raptors
