The empty plane theory related to the speed of the aircraft is bizarre

BUT

An empty plane headed to pick someone up is not unprecedented. It's how Kawhi and co were picked up on Wednesday. Private jet flew out late Tuesday/early Wednesday to pick them up

Why would a plane go faster when it's empty? It's not like a couple of people and their luggage is that much more weight that the plane would need to reduce it's speed drastically.

If the plan was slated to arrive at 10:15AM PST (that's 1:15PM EST) it seems it'll be there much earlier. It's over AZ right now alomost in CA
