Wasn't Danny talking about how great Toronto was and he'd love to return regardless of what Kawhi did? Then the season ends and all of a sudden it's dependent on Kawhi. He couldn't wait to go the Lakers (watch one of his interviews when the Lakers are brought up).

Imagine if Kawhi did that, talked about how great Toronto was and how he'd love to return, only to then go to LA in the off-season. Oh but hey he made a sm post so he's classy. lol

Lakers offered him more money and another chance to win a ring

Danny was salivating at the chance to play with the Lakers before FA even started. The second they got AD. Watch that one interview when they bring up the Lakers, he could barely contain himself.

Well, Danny has feelings and emotions. Kawhi on the other hand.....

It may have been dependent upon Kawhi since Masai may have spoken to Green and let him know that if Kawhi didn't stay, Toronto may not be in position to be competitive with its offer. Toronto may just value its cap space next off-season too much if Leonard not signed...

So to be fair to Green and Masai, I think both know who Green is as a player and the more talent that he plays with that can get him relatively open looks, the better that he will do as a floor spacer on offense.

I suspect if Raptors even had Gordon Hayward at SF to replace Leonard and the money was equal between Toronto and LA Lakers, Green chooses Toronto over a Lakers team that has Lebron/AD and not much else. Now if the money was roughly equal and Lakers had Lebron/AD/Leonard, for sure he chooses Lakers but he would kind of have to be a fool not to do so in those circumstances if he wants to win a championship with 3 different teams.

Danny wanted to get paid, If all deals were equal the only way he considers Toronto is if Kawhi returned and even that wasn't a guarantee. He made it pretty clear he was interested in the Lakers, he didn't say the same thing about the Knicks  . Lets not fool ourselves just because he said nice things about Toronto and the team, he did the same thing in San Antonio. That's just how Danny is.

I think if Leonard stays and money is even roughly equal, no way Green leaves Toronto. I will go so far as say, he takes 2/24 in Toronto over 2/30 in LA. You don't want to be a role player that breaks up an NBA champion just to move to LA. It isn't like Danny Green even grew up in LA as a Lakers fan. He may have had a vacation home somewhere near LA since many NBA players do.

Danny Green got traded from San Antonio. If a situation is working out reasonably well for him, I just don't see him as a player likely to leave with the money somewhat comparable. On one of his contracts with the Spurs, I really thought he signed a below market deal. The guy grew up in New York and played a long time at UNC and then San Antonio after a short stop in Cleveland.

So he left Toronto for the Lakers for logical reasons.
1) I highly suspect Lakers offering much more money. -- Toronto probably improves its offer by quite a bit if Leonard stays.
2) without Leonard, Raptors no longer a strong contender while Lakers with Lebron/AD should have a top 5 team and a need for Green.
3) maybe he finally wants a chance to play for a team in LA but realistically he didn't even have that many teams to choose from since by waiting for Leonard's decision, his own options dwindled.

PR fluff is right. Well written PR of poorly written PR it is just a formality thank-you card. The trophy says it all. Klaw is like the Littlest Hobo of superstars complete with captured on beta production values. Just send us a jingle song to end the show.

True...but other people in his circle have social media like his sister, Castleberry, Cris Carter, Jabari Young. They could have released something on Kawhi's behalf if he wanted to

You expect Castleberry to write something? I have a hard time believing he’s that smart. I mean it would be logical considering he’s extremely under qualified but the raptors gave him a job and paid this broke bum a salary. But you can’t expect anything less from a stupid fat ****.

The guy is just happy he gets to live in the dog house at Kawhis mansion.

I don’t need any acknowledgement from Kawhi. He came and won a chip and now he’s gone. He did his job.

Some of you guys are really insecure in needing to be thanked by a dude that we all know hated it here.

I felt like this initially but I’m over it now. Here’s what I’m planning on doing:

1. Watch all the games again but pay attention to what Lowry is doing more.

2. Treat it for what it is. An incredible, old-school championship run that you just don’t see anymore. It’s a year in history, and if you wanna watch a gritty team win it all, it’s always a great rewatch.

if this fanbase doesn't give Kawhi a standing ovation after this championship you're all fools. give the man credit and stand up then when the game starts start booing his ass, it's fair game but stop being salty.
