Barnes is not quite that aggressive/athletics/smooth but still extremely good! and he's still just a rookie so who knows.

Giannis def a better athlete(Speed/explosive) but Scottie is a more skilled player in terms of passing and even shooting(free throws aint bad) they both finish at the rim well in different ways. Similar games in terms of range and freaky length/strength.

Please do not put giannis level expectations on scottie. Let scottie be scottie. Realgm always does that thing where they put sky high expectations on players and then become toxic when said player doesnt reach the expectations they made up in their head lol

Our team is so stacked - future Kawhi in OG and future Giannis in Barnes

Honestly can't think of many rookies with such immediately noticeable bball iq. Everything from his on point rotations and use of his length on defense, positioning on rebounding, recognition of attackable space and obviously court vision - it all screams this guys brain was made for basketball

Not trying to be hyperbolic and they're not at all similar players, but the last rook that came in with that kind of savant like bball iq I remember was Luka

Scottie is likely never going to have that skill level as a scorer, but just talking the mental side of the game. There have been phenom rookies that put up crazier numbers with polished scoring tools, but I dont know if scottie is second to any of them in feel for the game and instinct

Giannis was able to average 6.5 apg while scoring 24.5 ppg ....he's an amazing passer but I agree, scottie seems more like PG passer/play maker as opposed to Giannas who is more of a "finding the open person because of gravitational attraction" passer

if that makes sense

Really impressed by how Barnes didn't let a slow start dictate his night. He just kept his energy high and his decisions quick and the game turned into a great one for him. Also his ability to jump multiple times on the same play with little drop off in height makes it feel a bit like he's got springs for legs, sort of like prime Shawn Marion

I will not compare him to Giannis , I think he already better than Giannis rookie year. Better BBiQ, good court version, I think he will play like magic Jonson

You can see that his mind thinks faster and better than almost anyone on the court. He sometimes just can't do the stuff he thinks in his head because, well he is a rookie and needs to improve everything in his game. The game comes to him more natural than for many other NBA players.

I get why people are putting Mobley are ROY front runner based on numbers, but he doesn't seem to be nearly as creative, active or dynamic as Scottie has been.

He's got some very elite skills and is a great anchor but Scottie just looks like a more well rounded and dynamic player.

Why are you dudes comparing Scottie to present day Giannis? How about rookie/sophmore Giannis vs Scottie, in terms of athleticism, ball IQ, passing, defense and fundamentals?

I swear Barnes can take off further from the rim when he goes for the dunk.
I feel on most of his dunks so far, by the time he hits the apex of his jump, he's already past the rim and arms are already bent due to his explosiveness. He has such long arms, huge hands, and such a strong body that he could be cramming it like Giannis with that huge extension.

He's a physical Marvel, a true freak alongside Kawhi and Giannis.

Also Scottie could very well end up better than some of these guys he gets compared to. I'd rather just let Scottie be Scottie, though its okay to point out similarities of a single in game move or action of scottie that resembles something his predecessor's or contemporaries did/do.

Just took a look at the Magic subreddit and their game thread from tonight’s game.

Lots of Magic fans are starting to express their frustrations and saying basically all he can do is hustle and dive for the ball. Cant handle, cant shoot, make bad reads and stupid turnovers, and saying he looks lost out there.

I don't think any comparisons really make sense because who knows what he will develop into and his game is also different than any player I have seen. He might have some shades of Draymond, Pippen etc. but he really moves differently.
