Maybe too harsh on the kid, but it’s disgusting how much better Bane is than Malachi. Masai and co. dropped the ball there for sure.

Yeah, just given how much better he is. Like, it's not that he's a bit better than Malachi, he's waaaaaay better. Bane looks like he could be a future All Star at some point.

Nick doesn't have the balls to let Fred know. I'm all for Scottie's development but damn each loss must be murdering his soul.

The only game that we really should have won was the Pistons game. You can say that injuries have made it really difficult for the rest of them. Raptors are a top-heavy team. Without three key rotation players, they are not going to survive.

 they are a top heavy team where none of the starters are top 5 in their position.

Okay? Your point being? The raptors have been like this since last year. They have very little depth and if they have a lot of injuries or coronavirus breakouts like last year, they are pretty much screwed. There is no bench mob anymore.

He just doesn't make his teammates better and neither does pascal... too much iso hero ball... problem is Trent also only looks for his... not certain what nick can do other than insist they move the ball around more...

Team really needs a 33 year old Marc Gasol.

hes pointed out that we need to look for scottie more on mismatches and let him handle the ball/move the ball. hes been on point a lot of the times he just needs more experience, itll come you cant judge the man whens hes never done anything like this and hes 10 games in

Barnes 3 of 6 from 3....bad shooter

Meanwhile FVV, Siakam, and Flynn were a combined 3 of 18 from 3.

Svi was so clutch in pre season but now he is horrible like most on the team... it has to be st the bottom of the NBA in 3 point percentage I would imagine...

How well did the rest of the team shoot tonight? 30/78 (38%) which includes a late on-slaught from Scottie and Siakam where they went 7/12.

How well did the rest of the team shoot against the Celtics? 27/77 (35%)

How well did the rest of the team shoot against the Pacers? 27/68 (40%)

Give FVV some players to pass to that can actually hit wide open shots and layups and he'd be averaging more than 3.3 assists over a 3-game sample size. You are ridiculous lol

but still, the turnovers. and FVV isn't a guy who is an elite playmaker and threads the needle on passes - which will lead to some TOs. they are just careless TOs all in all. 4TOs per game is pretty bad.

I hope we don't have any nationally televised games this year. Dodged one with no Christmas game.

RapsFanInOhio wrote:I don’t know how much of it is selfishness versus how much is that the offense isn’t designed to move the ball that well. Guys like Pascal and Fred are getting a bad rap but the shot distribution really isn’t that bad to me. Add that to the injuries and guys just underperforming and you have a sub-.500 team.

Unfortunately it looks like this might end up being another stealth tank season, which, ugh. Long term that might be really good. There’s just simply too much talent on this team to be this bad, and adding another decent prospect to this and you’ve really got something. Before they have any success, Barnes either has to turn into a superstar or Nurse has to change the offense in some manner. This offense is what we ran with Kawhi, and it isn’t working because we don’t have a Kawhi.

When we're healthy some of our guys are playing up a spot in the pecking order from where they belong because we don't have the top end talent and depth we used to have. With the injuries it's that much worse.

I still think SIakam can be a good player for us but he needs to be in a secondary role. Right now that's not possible. I still think he needs to make better decisions at times and be more aggressive. I hope this is something that will come around soon because we know he's been better in the past.

Despite all of the above, there is no reason the team should be THIS bad. The way they continually fall behind to start most games is deflating. It's one thing when things fall apart later. When they keeping having these bad starts you want to get up and go do something else. Now more frequently, that's what I'm doing.

I feel like we are on the precipice of another tank season. I'm not there yet but something has to change, whether it's guys getting healthy or some guys improving / getting back to their previous level.

Like many here, without Scottie I don't think I would be watching.

Raptors broadcasts constantly & conveniently bring up the injury excuse for the losses. It’s a factors but it’s nauseating to constantly hear. Grizz were without Ja too.

too bad. we just feature Barnes on Christmas day and let the world know who he is. unfortunately he doesn't seem to be a creative dunker but hopefully he shows out at the Rookie/Sophomore game - I.e. national stage presence
