Well, I don't believe the reports about him wanting to stay in the East. It was inevitable that we would be used for clickbait and leverage.

Makes a lot of sense if Giannis’s goal is to win more championships. The East is clearly the easier path to get to the Finals for the foreseeable future.

Sure, and if he couldn't get far with another HoF'er as a sidekick, what exactly are we selling him on? Like everyone else, I hope like hell that BI stays healthy because he is instantly our best offensive player. But there are likely zero people on the planet who would be shocked if he missed 30 games next season, let's be honest.

As flawed as he is, I don't think Giannis comes here if Barnes is going the other way. And then that's where the Bucks and Raps are at an impasse. And again, I don't say this as a way of not trading Barnes. I would trade him in a nanosecond for Giannis. Bucks can even choose whichever other 2 non-BI players they want and I am still fine with it, as well as whatever draft picks it would take. It would be much cleaner and easier to send Barnes the other way, but I just think Giannis then wouldn't want to go.

I suspect that is what this "fact finding" mission that he and his people are on, is all about. Finding a suitable trading partner that would still be a very good team after losing the players that go the other way.

They instantly becomes the Favs in the West with Giannis/Wemby/Fox on the same team....And they would still have some solid depth with guys like Keldon/Barnes/CP3/Vassell/Sochan....I think if they can keep the 14th pick it would be ideal but i feel any trade involving Giannis will be pick heavy...

Whats the downside of making that move? Giannis is a top 3 player...

Perhaps it's just my feeling or perception, but Spurs seem to try and lowball others lately, trying to fleece the opponent. They will probably want to hold onto Castle and #2.

Even if it's for Giannis, they may not want to give up #2 and a Roty.

Also Bucks may want win now players not rookies, they are not tankers like jazz or Hornets, AFAIK.

If we ever got him we need a steady defensive PG. Shead might be too young for that but he's a keeper.

We need shooting, veteran presence that can execute in tough situations.

I don't think you need a veteran team but you def need those pieces on any winning team. I guess you get Giannis then work on other things after.

They're a horrible fit at SF/PF but theyd be great at C/PF. You just need to get an above average bacup C for particular matchups but we could have our very own "death lineup"

I’m not sure why people are so insistent on hanging onto Barnes. If the right deal comes along you trade him. You don’t need Giannis and pooor man’s Giannis on the same team. Also If Barnes is that good and has that much value you also don’t need to include much with him to get Giannis instead of gutting half the team.

When we first traded for Barrett and quickley, that lineup with Barnes, siakam quickley Barrett looked pretty damn good. Now imagine you replaced Barnes with Giannis and have Ingram instead of siakam. That’s a crazy lineup with versatility and scoring. Pretty unstoppable.

I honestly wish we gave the IQ/RJ/Barnes/Siakam/Poeltl lineup more runway. We literally wasted 2 seasons only to get the 9th pick in this draft lol.
