Again, "unless a NBA roster spot guarantee emerges" basically guaranteed contract which can be offered not just in 1st round.

Are these GMs that incompetent? There's no room on various rosters? You've got to be **** kidding me.

Was coming off the bench in Greece last season & was a late-riser throughout the draft process.

Would’ve been drafted for sure & probably snuck into the 1st round imo, but made way for sense for him to get the NIL money & increase his draft stock at VT

Makes more sense to get in the league ASAP if you're physically and mentally ready. Fast tracks 2nd contract. It looks like he is already 5 months later. Why bother attending? The answer is he's fishing for any guaranteed interest.

Huge missed opportunity.

Missed opportunity for the league or for Neo?

For the league I'd agree, I'm sure there were a bunch of GMs looking to draft him if they had multiple 1st/early 2nds. For Neo I don't see how it was a missed opportunity at all. His exposure and draft stock are going to shoot up this year, and I'm sure he's making a nice bit of money with NIL.

For the team interested obviously. I'm not commenting on agent strategies. The team has to talk him into it for their advantage of getting a lottery type talent cheap.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

You know who might be like Dybansta but able to be drafted in the late teens?

Jake Wilkins

Hit all of his FT's and gets 1 steal and 1.5 blocks per game early on. In his HS highlights he takes and makes 3's.

Jacob Wilkins in 3 games (against weak competition) is averaging 14.3 pts in only 17.3 mins.

This is looking like one of the strongest classes in a while, looks like it has a mix of elite talent at the top and high quality throughout the rest of the first round.

I'd guess our pick falls somewhere in the 12-20 range, and I think we'll end up with a solid player anywhere in the range

I know we won't have a shot at him but it's more so just a comment on this draft but idk why Caleb Wilson isn't being put in the conversation with Peterson, Boozer & AJ.

He's arguably already been on par with Peterson and AJ in their head-to-head matchups this year...

Also should be noted he's a great defender too. I know there has seriously been a lot of really good drafts in the recent years (aside from prob JaKobe's one) but usually there's one true standout and like a handful of all-star level looking players. At least potential wise, this is the first time to me that it looks like *early on* that this MIGHT have 4-5 legit stars (ie/ Peterson, Boozer, Dybansta, Wilson...and maybe Neo?!). Then you add to it players like Ament, Brown Jr...sheesh, I really think this draft could really re-shape the lucky teams that end up with these guys.

Right now he's a 2nd rounder in 2027. If he gets better he should transfer for his senior year. In only 2 games, how is his DBPM a -5.3? :reporter:

Though he is listed last year at 6'9 and 7'0 this year so adjusting to his new body and plays like a PF. I guess his ceiling is a 7'0 Pascal Siakam.

Probably still would look at 7'2 Moustapha Thiam, now with Cincy. Through 3 games, he's been good on defense but the offense hasn't come around. I would think a more nimble Hasheem Thabeet with some forward skills.

Anyone mentioned Johann Grunloh yet? Averaging 4.7 blocks in 23 mpg for Virginia university. Used to have monster block numbers in European youth competitions too. Seems to be another Walker Kessler type prospect.

I brought him up last year when he was on the 2nd round radar in Europe. The other German, Steinbach, is more interesting to me. Grunloh seems very limited offensively.

Yup Steinbach is a baller, but he'll likely go in the top20, maybe even lottery. I think Grunloh could be acquired in the 2nd round.

7'2 Aday Mara

Only 2 games but consistent with 12 and 13 rebounds; also 5 blocks in each game. He's got 8 assists to 3 turnovers. I think he's a better prospect than Zach Edey because of his mobility. He's a junior.

Speaking of juniors, JT Toppin is off to a nice start with 31 and 35 points.

Zvonimir started for his injured brother Tomislav and played well.

Pettiford should've turned pro last year if he had a 1st round promise.

Stirtz, Acuff and and Avdalas shooting well.

OKC has the Clippers and Jazz picks (right now in the top 10). Yikes. Also Philly and Houston.

Damn man looking back at it. We prolly could of had that Pelicans pick this year if we wanted since they offered us their 2026 pick for the 9th pick....If you told me at last years draft you could have a top 5 pick in the 2026 draft, And a player like Jase Richardson at 23rd and gave up CMB i would take that deal with a big smile on my face.

Hawks are going to end up with a great player.

Probably Asa Newell at #23. Would love a shot at Peterson, Dybansta, Boozer, Ament and Mikel BrownJr.

Georgia Tech is 3-0 playing 3-0 Georgia tonight. Let's see how Jake Wilkins plays. :D

https://www.noceilingsnba.com/p/2026-nba-draft-big-board-v1

Right now he's not in this Top 60 mock, but he will be. I think should eventually land as high as late teens in such a stacked draft. Could end up an Ace Bailey level prospect without the ego. Maybe a more athletic Nikola Jovic without a 3pt shot yet. He was only a 4 star recruit, that's working hard.

Yeah Newell or Jase (Although i think Jase will be the better player) + that 2026 pick would have been more valuable than just having CMB....Love CMB but looking back not accepting that trade offer could cost us big time....Hawks are in such a good position now to pivot off Trae. If Hawks get lucky and land the #1 pick i will be pretty upset.

Def looking like a strong draft. And we should be able to add a good piece in that 11-20 range depending on where we end up.

That's actually not the worst case scenario.

Imagine we were still able to get CMB by trading back up a little from that 23rd pick. I'm not certain where CMB goes if we don't take him 9. I think there's a chance he slides.

Does OKC or San Antonio take Ochai and 23 to move up and take CMB? Maybe

Then we basically traded Ochai for a top 10 pick in this draft.
