From game to game, I don't know who is going to be reliable & who isn't. Our role playera aren't strong enough.

This is why actual good teams rely on vets vs developing multiple youth. Way too unreliable game to game.

Yeah. And we went 0-for, which was just... 0/18, man. That's rough. Not a SINGLE triple from the bench. Our starters shot over 44% from 3. But damn... yikes. The bench.

Start considering offence when drafting would be my advice.

They drafted dick for offense and look how that turned out.

I did not like CJ Miles at all when he was on the team, but would.love to have a guy like him on the bench right now. That's where things are at.

Do you think Gradey was a bad offensive player in college?

That’s one guy. Shead, Mogbo, Walter, CMB were all drafted for their defence and nothing else.

I’ve seen a ton of Patrick McCaw types come off our bench in the Masai/Bobby era. These guys are all out of the league now.

I don’t disagree in general, but I also think it’s such bad luck they actually drafted a guy for his shooting/offense and he turns out to be an absolute lemon. So the point is, drafting for offense doesn’t necessarily mean the player will actually pan out offensively in the nba. Even Walter was considered an offensive player although they did like his two way upside.

CMB was a great offensive player in college.

Walter, Shead and Mogbo were all drafted late in the draft. How many offensive studs were drafted after them?

You just want to find a rotation player in those slots. And they had lots of success in the past by drafting Delon, Pascal, Norm, OG, Fred.

We didn’t draft McCaw. We acquired him from the Warriors who also kept him around for awhile. Must be a reason why McCaw kept hanging around championship teams.

Yeah, we need to LAND on our picks, and that's been troublesome for us. Though I suppose that's generally true.

"Great" is probably a little aggressive. Limited range, weak at the foul line. Good inside, of course, and he's a solid passer. But when I think "great," my head goes to guys who were actually dominant, not just quality rotation pieces.

Starting small with Ochai over CMB when youre going against JV is all on the coach.

Benching your best 3 shooter repeatedly over scrubs who keep bricking 3s is all on the coach.
Darko'd.

Darko reminds me of Smitch, often letting the opponent go on 12-0 runs before calling a timeout.

We say these things about every coach. I don’t think we’ve ever had a coach in history that’s never been heavily criticized.

The only thing I don’t like about Darko is he force feeds minutes to guys that don’t deserve it (achiuwa, dick) while benching guys that are actually contributing (Boucher, battle) I’m wondering how much of it is actually his Choice though and how much the front office is forcing him to do these things. We’ve all accepted the Boucher decision was organizational for tanking and development and what not, so it isn’t unrealistic to assume that the front office is also the reason dick continues to get minutes. It sucks for the on court product though.

Fair to say he wasn’t great. But he wasn’t a quality rotation piece. He was their best player and best offensive player by a mile. lol.

It’s fair to say he was a good offensive player. Good passer, good interior scorer, could take players off the dribble too.

You could see that from Sportsnet’s full speed replay taken from the opposite side of the court?

I used the Sportsnet app to slow it down

ironically, because the broadcast is ****

If BI wingspan was just 7’2” that would have been good.

So it's necessary for Walter to play 7 minutes more than his season average, despite being ice cold. But Scottie plays less than what he usually plays?

I love Ingram man. This is exactly the type of player this team needed.

Crazy that we got him for that bum Bruce Brown. What a fleece.

Just sucks we have other weaklings (Darko, Gradey, etc.) which are holding this team back considerably.

20-15 is a solid start to the season regardless. But man, it feels like we should have a significantly better record. So many missed opportunities.

I think that says more about South Carolina than it does about CMB, but it's still a fair point!

Yep.
