My post wasn't about Meyers Leonard, it was about Harrison Barnes.

Poor positioning
Too mechanical with his post moves
Lacks footwork

This can be tied together in a macro "post ability" argument, but I believe the clips show he can score in the post, part of that is because he doesn't need a lot of advanced moves with his height and athletic tools, the touch and release is more important and he has that. DX says 40% of his offensive possessions were bask to the basket

Lacks intensity
Still very raw
Has effort issue
Can't even compete on a U19 level (poor performance)

The effort level issue is a concern but he also played on a team poor at passing him the ball. He produced as well as 2nd year Lamarcus Aldridge and better than PJIII and Drummond on that note.

Meyers' U19 stats per 36 were 15pts, 11rebs and 3.4 blocks on 63% FG. Nothing to be concerned about.

Well that was the fastest I've ever put someone on ignore, it's like Tracy Morgan's character on 30 Rock has a RealGM account

I also think using LMA college comparison to purposely make a player look good is silly. Comparison technique is seriously overused.

I love to have him back as backup not just because of his defense and slashing ability but I really miss the young gunz its really sparkle the chemistry of these guys and gave a boost of entertainment in youtube. And Demar really needs a friend lol.

Here are the ESPN rookie rankings. The list suggests that evaluating talent is more important than draft position.

1 Kyrie Irving drafted #1
2 Kenneth Faried drafted #22
3 Chandler Parsons drafted #38
4 Kawhi Leonard drafted #15
5 Isaiah Thomas drafted #60
6 Kemba Walker drafted #9
7 Klay Thompson drafted #11
8 Gustavo Ayon undrafted
9 Derrick Williams drafted #2
10 Ricky Rubio drafted #5 in 2009

Is a wing rotation of Demar/Weems/JJ or LK/Barnes or Lamb strong enough...

Sonny's not a bum so it's not like the Bosh/Loren Woods situation, and for DeMar Sonny's like a spotter when weight training. It's always good to have your boy with you so you have company to workout and practice when the rest of the team is not around.

I agree with some of your analysis of other players but I'm not buying Leonard either. I know the L loves the athletic 7 footers but i think your buying him high and overpromoting a bit.

I'm comfortable drafting 8th. Historically it's been a good pick and we know there's going to be good talent, one of Barnes/Beal/Lamb is going to be there. don't want to drop any lower though.

I'd love to see Sonny back as our scorer off the bench. I really think he can fill that Barbosa role well. Plus it's good to bring him back - he was good for the chemistry of this team. Plus he and JV probably know of each other pretty well by now. It's just a good addition for so many reasons.

If 7th, one of them might be there but there's no chance one of them will land at 8th.

1. Davis (obviously)
(2-7 range in no specific order)
2. Robinson
3. MKG
4. Barnes
5. Beal
6. Drummond
7. Lamb

These are likely the candidates. Also Wizard, Blazers/Nets, Cavs, and Lolzcat all four teams lack a wing player, after Davis going 1st, the remaining bigs likely be drafted high are T-Rob and Drummond. So that makes "2 bigs and 4 wing prospects including Davis, that makes up the top 7. So I can guarantee you those 4 wings will be gone by the time we draft@8th.

Has anyone seen the "Portland Trail Blazers draft" thread on NBAdraft? I LMAO when someone mentioned this:

cuseflynn10 wrote: Portland should go with Drummond and PJ3. That way they have Drummond at 6'11, Aldrige at 6'11, and Jones at 6'11. That would cause so many mismatches for opposing teams.

I laughed because of the possibility of having two softasses on the same team.

It's more important if you're looking for good role players. Irving and Rubio are the only game-changers on that list. Would Parsons and Ayon put the Raptors over the top? C'mon man
