Dr Positivity wrote:Two panic moves that seems the most likely for BC right now to me

1. Ross/JLIII for Derrick Williams

2. Ross/Calderon for Danny Granger (at the deadline).

The Williams move has been gone over, but going after Granger would be soooo BC. He'd get to sell to the board "Hey guyz we have Lowry, Demar, Granger, Bargnani and Valanciunas, playoff teamz!" ignoring the huge risk of a bad knees Granger who's about to ask for a max extension.

I agree with you Mufasa. I can see him package guys like Ross and Ed Davis to get back a Granger or a Wilson Chandler type player to save his job.

To save his job, will Colangelo scapegoat the coach soon or make some terrible, shortsighted trade that damages the franchise long-term? Or maybe both?

Stay tuned to find out.

If the team is something like 4-18 after the road trip I seriously see Casey getting fired

The problem with BC is that he gets too attached to all his players. He's a players' GM. The only time he's really sold high on a player is when he traded Villanueva, whom he inherited, and barely knew. I think a good GM has to be able to make tough decisions like when is a good time to sell high on a player. Calderon and Bargnani are prime examples of players that will put up numbers, but in the end, aren't stars or don't contribute much to a winning team imo. Caldy is best suited to be a backup on basically all but a select few teams in the NBA. I think the same thing applies to Andrea as well, and you know what, DeMar might fit that category as well, yet we gave him a relatively lucrative contract extension.

Part 2 includes when BC first arrived here, and how his arrival had raised the expectations of the team. I remember I was ecstatic when he was hired, but he's been underwhelming aside from that 1st year.

Does Colangelo even give interviews anymore?
The impression I get is that he's in hiding.

He was on the Fan just a few weeks ago if I recall correctly. The problem is ask one question and he talks forever about the same crap he's been shovelling for years.

Somehow he'll turn around and sell everyone on the fact that we're still rebuilding even though all he talked about was accelerating the rebuild for a playoff run.

This guy has no clear vision and it's not even really a debate whether he should be around anymore.

A few weeks ago is quite a long time.
He's afraid to face hard questions with all the losses and Bargnani's horrible play and Casey's nutty decisions.

The apathy from the media regarding this situation is frustrating. Has any significant writer called him out yet? 7 years of ineptitude can't just fly under the radar like this.

I am tired of all the game announcers pretending this team still has a chance to make the playoffs. Last year Philadelphia barely made it in with a 53% winning record, or 44 wins based on 82 game season.

Meaning for the Raptors to even have a shot , small chance to see the 8th spot, they will have to go 41-27 for the rest of the season. Based on the last two weeks there is no way in hell that is going to happen.

So really the only choice is to tank, and tank hard enough to stay in the bottom 3... otherwise this is just a complete disaster. Oh and yes fire BC

My favourite in the comment section.
I agree the year so far has been bad, but it's a bit early to call for Colangelo's head. It was expected to take some time for the starters to gel and the rookie Val to adjust a bit to NBA style and calls. I do agree that Colangelo should be at the end of his opportunities in TO. Barg's is too good a player to move out however.

Nice article you wrote

It's amazing to me though that nobody in the media is calling for Colangelo's head. Listening to
PTS today they had Jack on and Bobcat was roasting Bargs and said he has to go and Jack
was like "It's getting to that point" it's like are you serious Jack it's way beyond that point. They
also talked about Caseys job security but not once did they even mention about Colangelo getting
fired.

Most of the media seems to be in some kind of trance that Colangelo has them in with his Car Salesman
charm it's unbelievable.

Perfect moment as a raptors fan

We need someone like Butch Carter who can tell the young guys ''alright, we're going wherever you take us''. That's what he did to Mcgrady and then the guy then got a max contract with orlando.
Warriors are a good example of a team that trusts its young players, and they're winning.

Casey is starting to piss me off.

I think we're past the point of whether or not he should be fired, its more like should he ever be allowed near a franchise again.

BC is a basketball pedophile and NBA teams are his local park. The 05' Nash signing was his biggest security blanket, without that he would have never been a GMOTY.

Articles like that are like chewing broken glass.

I think. Not a whole lot of experience chewing broken glass, I must admit. But it seems like it would resemble reading articles like that.

Wowzers. Probably deserves its own thread.
