Absolutely for whoever is GM. It has to be a significant upgrade not a lateral move because Casey liked Jose better. I think this season will be status quo and Lowry will be front and centre trying to be legit in a contract year. Like the Raps team as a whole you'd like to think they and him can work through the issues that make him and them, let's be honest, dreadfully inconsistent. Lowry lacks composure more than anything else.

Ideally we would look to upgrade the PG spot(I'm against a Lowry trade) but who could we ideally get. Only guy who is realistic is Brandon Jennings but there aint enough balls for him Val, Gay, and Demar.

Jennings is a loser. Wasted investment. Treadmill.

Jennings would be an upgrade. I think he's a better team player/passer than Lowry. He can shoot the 3 and he can defer to teammates if he has them. He's been kinda forced to be a scoring option with the Bucks with the lack of scoring options... but I think he can pass the ball well if he had Rudy and DeMar to defer to. He can hit the open 3, and he can pass the ball well if he needs... that's all we need. Plus he's 3 years younger than Lowry and he naturally has better chemistry with DeMar... he'd be a great addition if we could get him in a sign-and-trade.

Ew no. Raptors must stay as far away from Jennings as possible, he is a terrible inefficient chucker. Would never s&t Lowry for him.

Ross + Bargnani + Fields for Pau Gasol

Amnesty Kleiza sign Dunleavy + Augustin + O'Neal

Decline Lucas

Lowry - Augustine
DD - Dunleavy
Gay - Anderson
Gasol - Amir
JV - O'Neal

Yeah i just said hypothetically. Guy would be another MIke James on our team. Lowry was 15/5/5 before casey neutered him.

I'm just confused with how our team is built. Do we tank next year and get one of the top picks? Do we trade DD/Bargs plus others to get a good player filling a need? we could try and build like the pacers because it seems if it wasn't for Miami and lebron, they would have a legit chance of winning the ship. If only it was possible to get a legit superstar with our current core. If we aren't going to blow up our team, we don't have that much flexiblilty(lol BC) to make many changes with our current contracts.

Even if we build by draft that still doesn't mean we'll be successful just because some teams have been. I really feel that with Val/gay/(motivated hou lowry/ amir/ one of ross/dd we have a pretty decent team, we need a proper coach who knows how to run this team and if we make can get some decent talent back for bargs, back up center, back up playing making pg, and some a couple of shooters then we'll be competing.

lol of course whatever I mentioned isn't that easy to do but this seems like the likely route this team will take based on what BC has done, it would be hard to blow this core up in a year and start fresh... I really believe we can be a top 5 team in the east with just making minor changes next year but then where do we go from there? I don't want a team that's peak is 5th seed, I'm tired of average or below average teams, so I'm not really sure what the management is going to do to ensure we can compete properly and QUICKLY due to the fans getting impatient...

how about this with the Magic

to toronto:
Jameer Nelson
Aaron Afflalo
Al Harrington

to Orlando:
Andrea Bargnani
Terrence Ross
Landry Fields

the Raptors get 3 very good bench pieces who can both defend and stretch the floor. The Magic go full tank mode and get a young piece in Terrence Ross to put in their kid lineup

after this deal we should look into signing a back up big like Carl Landry/Chris Kaman/Elton Brand/ Jermaine O'neal

Val/
Amir/Landry
Gay/Harrington
Derozan/Afflalo
Lowry/Nelson

that lineup will be hella solid

Do y'all think Jimmer Fredette would be a good buy-low get? He can backup Lowry for a year, and if he shows well, could move into a starting role once Lowry inevitably bolts for Free Agency. I've always been fascinated with his offensive prowess, even moreso now with the play lately of Stephen Curry, a similarly potent offensive player.

from the Huffington Post.

"As things currently stand, Fredette is the third-string point guard on a 19-38 Sacramento team; interim coach Keith Smart recently benched him for 48 minutes five times in a six-week span. Jimmer is shooting 36.7 percent on 3-point attempts, undoubtedly a good number, but for him, not nearly good enough."

He's only a rookie but sounds like he gets the hook early and often. The good news is he did manage to play 16 mins per game so there is a sample size of what he contributed. He has next to no assists and needs to be a point guard in this league when by all accounts he plays like a 6'2 shooting guard who is mismatched on defence. As a scorer if they take away his reason to be he isn't going to be effective. Ross has similar rookie numbers except Ross is 6'6 and plays good defence. Makes me realize Ross has some scary potential. Jimmer is high risk.

What about Monta Ellis to play the Ginobli role on our team. He could carve up other teams benches

Eliis (SnT)

for

Fields
Gray
Ross
Lucas

sign Randy Foye to the MLE, Elton Brand to the BAE, Amnesty Bargs(or make him a bench player, whatever)

I'm sure the Bucks would be dying to get a S&T package like that.

At this point I would take nearly anyone who can shoot the three!

Fredette at no cost (or little cost) to the team would be something I wouldn't be opposed to.
I think as a fifth guard he could be serviceable.

What about this

To TOR: Millsap S&T (11 million per, 4 years?)
To BRK: Bargnani
To UTA: Hump + Cash (TOR) + Cash (BRK) + 2015 TOR 1st RD Pick

The only problem I see is Utah paying Humphries 12 million...on the other hand he's a expiring contract, a big one at that who can probably be retraded around the deadline. Between Hump & Marvin that's 19.5 in expirings. They get a future 1st out of it

Brooklyn can't do a S&T which is why they get involved and get Bargnani for a mere useless expiring. He fits into their PF position and money isn't a issue for them.

Lowry / Augustin (FA) / PG (Vet like Earl Watson)
Derozan / Ross
Gay / Fields
Millsap / Amir / Acy
Val / Gray / C(Vet)

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

This would be ideal for us. If Utah wants, I wouldn't mind giving them Ross instead of the pick.
