Nice BLOB play by Triano to use him as a screener to get him open. Would like to see him screen more since defense can't help off of him.

Heslip is probably too small and slow to attract too many NBA teams (he looks even less athletic and smaller than Steve Kerr and Fred Holberg) but his jump shot is truly world class and his sole selling point to be on an NBA roster. He's like Steve Nash calibre as a shooter. Not exaggerating. When he rises for that jumpshot, that's when you should take a picture of him.

Good stunt by Wiltjer and active hands forcing the turnover

Huzzah GG :)

This means Canada advances to elimination rounds it seems.

I got replay material to compile for the second half, in the late evening I will get stuff from the first half and then upload to Youtube again lol.

OK got the first half highlights.. will compile in a couple of hours, going to play basketball myself first :D

Time to emulate Jamal Murray (I wish!)!

Yeah. Andre Miller?

This whole "Murray lacks athleticism" is BS. He may not be a highriser, but he is super athletic in other ways.

He has excellent hand eye coordination, excellent footwork, very good foot speed/ lateral quickness, excellent body control, unbelievable ball handler for a guy who is 6'4".

He's also just a kid still and hasn't nearly reached his athletic peak.

What I don't understand is that many teams usually have their 12th and 13th guys rotting away anyway. So why not just sign a guy like Heslip to play on offense at the end of quarters when the clock is off. Sure it's a ultra-specialist role but I'm sure he could help a team like the Cavs in those types of situations and would be worth having on the roster for that alone.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Brazil up by 9 at half and its not looking like a fluke. I would have preferred to play Brazil next, but after watching this game I think Canada might be able to take either one. The US has pretty good size with Anthony Randolph and tarczewski, but I think Canada has a better team for FIBA ball and more high end talent.

I saw the US team had a couple former NBA guys but nobody significant. You would have to think we are the favourite to win it all. I didn't expect this tourney to be so garbage. Whatever the qualifier should be our first look at our complete team.

Would this tournament affect FIBA Rankings at all? I know its mostly a B or C level tourney, but if Canada can manage to win this thing, surely they'd get atleast a lil bump from 25th no?

No, I don't believe there are any points awarded for the Pan Am Games. It's the same with the Commonwealth Games, etc. If the participation list is restricted, it wouldn't really be fair to other countries not to have the same opportunities to gain points. The only things you get points for are the regional tournaments (like the FIBA Americas later this summer), the now-called World Cup, and the Olympics.

There are also points awarded for the various age group tournaments, but they only count towards youth rankings.

I went to the game tonight and a few things I learnt today or had reaffirmed

-Heslip can dunk easily

- Bennett may be he best dunker I have ever seen, he's like Blake Griffin on steroids. One of his practice dunks was insane in terms of difficulty and the amount of power/ease he was able to do it at..I would love to see him in a dunk comp.

-Bhullar still needs to lose a lot of weight and does not have a good BBall Iq

-Jamal Murray will be Canada's leader for the future not Wiggins. He literally doesn't have a flaw in his game.

-Oh and I saw Roy Rana, pinball clemons and Nav bhatia "aka" Turban Guy
