How much would everyone lose their minds if Masai moved 7 in a package for Sabonis?

Heres the guy Toronto's going to pick. Dame Sarr. 6'8, 7'0 wingspan. Turns 19 in June. Averaging 54% FG and 45% 3PT for Barcelona in limited minutes. Recently scored 17 points at the Nike Hoop Summit. Plays like Andrew Wiggins.

So heres the thing. Sarr requested to leave Barca for a week and play in the Hoop Summit and they refused to let him go and play. But he went anyways haha and he had a great showing. The official statement from Barca said he was too important to the team as they have been giving him an increased role lately.

He maybe going to college for a year. Illinois has been recruiting him heavy for months. He's probably NBA ready though and could go straight to the draft.

Goga only played 4 mins for Orlando tonight...and they have Wagner coming back next year.

He is likely gonna get traded and only makes 8 then 7 mill the next 2 years.

Feel like someone gonna get him for a 2nd this summer

I can think of fewer players who are a worse fit for this roster than slowfooted Sabonis

I think Giannis would be slightly easier to get than Jokic. It makes no sense for Denver to trade Jokic. It makes a lot of sense for Milwaukee to trade Giannis.

You could do a trade for #1, RJ, Gradey, and 2 1sts. That would be a pretty decent offer.

Would you guys package RJ + Dick for a pick in the 9-13 range? Use the second pick to grab a Malauch potentially. I don't know if we can get another pick in this draft but I'd love to see it!

I get the desire to trade back in so that we could use our own pick to be truly "BPA" but I'm not sure who would be the taker of that trade between SAS, MIA, HOU, POR, DAL or CHI especially considering they would need to send out matching salaries and most of them don't really have players they'd like to move off of aside from maaaybe POR with Ayton in which case you ironically would have a little bit of a logjam at C to really develop Maluach as you would like to. Frankly I'm very doubtful any of those teams would bite and I would also say I think RJ & Gradey would probably be the pieces used in a trade for another "star" player (with multiple picks ofc).

But what I'll keep saying is that I would like to trade Gradey (or Ochai, maybe both if needed) to jump back in around mid lottery ie/ ORL's pick. They quite obviously need shooting then take one of Queen/Maluach with our own pick then use that pick to draft Carter Bryant (in particular)....or worst case Rasheer Fleming so that we can better balance out our roster by swapping out a SG for forward depth/added size. I think that's a trade that can be mutually beneficial and ofc Masai & Weltman have a good relationship that perhaps that can be sorted out without us having to worry about missing out on either C prospect plus keep RJ's contract for a larger trade.

No.

People really underrate a 24 year old 21 pt scorer

More likely overrate. There were 44 players who averaged 21+ PPG this year. 10 years ago there were 20. Scoring inflation is way up.

Scoring 21 PPG on below average efficiency is nowhere near as impressive as it used to be. There is definitely a “scoring because someone has to score on a bad team” factor when considering what RJ’s output would actually be on a good team.

Who would rather have those guys than their own guy starting on a rookie salary.

RJ value is Anfernee Simons tier.

That pick could be anything, it could even be RJ or Dick!

I think somehow we have to trade IQ. Maybe consolidate into 2 or 3 players. Either to Brooklyn, Orlando, Miami or whatever. Too much money for a 6th man. I get the asset management of signing him but we bid against ourselves.

And RJ has the 64th highest salary.

Seems like he is paid fairly

With that pick, we can select a guy who, in 3 or 4 years, could be as good as RJ.
