Almost like the players couldn't care less about it. That can't be it.

Buzelis is probably the one guy worth keeping around and he's really more of a 2nd/3rd star down the road. But that trio isn't contending for anything regardless. Though who knows, maybe they'll get some D.Rose-like luck in winning the lottery this year lol

They're on pace to have max cap space in 2026 even with some extensions to giddey n white, what they do with that is on them, but I guess that's what they're tryna build for. They should try and bottom out next year
Draft prospect discussion should go in the draft thread. This thread is for arguing about the merits of tanking vs competing with the occasional mudslinging thrown in.720 wrote:dohboy_24 wrote:Duffman100 wrote:Bryant does look very intriguing. Wow.

Even if he did it by mistake you can talk about prospects in the tank threads…it used to be one of the pillars of discussion in these threads. It’s not limited to just the draft thread.

The tank is over. Moving forward, any comments about draft prospects or the impending outcome of the draft lottery can be made in the 2025 NBA Draft Discussion thread which has now been stickied at the top of the forum: viewtopic.php?f=32&t=2450680

Cap space means nothing now, especially with Luka in LA. The NBA has pretty much legislated meaningful free agency out of the league with the new CBA.

Masai has been calling this for years now. NBA free agency is no longer ... and it's basically only for role players now.
Free agency has turned into the "trade portal" ie. stars asking out and teams looking for the best package ... which we've already seen a bunch with stars the last few years. It's only going to continue.
