Honestly, Im not thrilled with the wings in the draft, therefore i think we need to target either Irving or Kanter, and then look at Jeff Green or Wilson Chandler in free agency to fill the hole at SF with a more permanent fixture.

The same is true for North Carolina's Harrison Barnes. For Williams and Barnes it just comes down to this: Do they want to get paid and drafted in the top five, or do they really want to return to college and make a run toward a national title in 2012? Arizona and Carolina are contenders with them on the roster. The potential NBA lockout shouldn't affect a decision -- agents can take care of these top picks during this time.

Good to hear the players aren't being swayed by the chance of a work stoppage. The money will eventually come If they get drafted and the agents will gladly have their backs until the new CBA is figured out.

Can an agent "take care" of a college player, most likely meaning they get given gifts or money, and still be eligible to play in college? I thought this would be a violation.

If they're out of college I think they can be taken care of. I doubt he's talking about guys who are still in school.

Yeah he's talking about players who have been drafted but are not being paid because of the lockout. The big agents will just pay the players themselves and collect their loans back when the season resumes.

If they have an agent, they are already in violation with NCAA rules are ineligible to play, I think what it means is they can find them jobs overseas until the NBA resumes league play in the case of a lockout.

I think if the Raptors get the third pick they should look to make a play for Rodney Stuckey, with Calderon going to Detroit, and a swap of the third pick for the seventh. I think there are going to be alot of options.

I would then either look at taking a center at #7 and try to sign Wilson Chandler. Stuckey, Chandler, and a center with the pick sounds good to me. Or select a small forward and sign Dalembert. Stuckey, Dalembert, and a small forward also works.

Of course they could simply stick with the pick and take the best player available and still look at signing a free agent, with Chandler and Dalembert being high on my list. But with Calderon and Bayless now at the point I think a trade needs to happen if they want to bring in an upgrade at that position.

And even though I like what Reggie Evans brings to the team, I think the future at power forward is definitely Davis and Amir Johnson, with James Johnson also being able to help out there.

The wildcards are Bargnani and Kleiza. Personally I would like to see both moved. I know there`s been a ton of threads about how both of them aren`t worth as much as some think but surely there`s a deal out there for Bargnani at least that would allow a better team balance, as long as they can aquire a legit center.

So mark me down as using the high pick as leverage in a trade that still gives them a top ten pick in some sort of package.

Here's the entire scrimmage for the World Team at the Hoop Summit. You can see Bebe (#15), Bismack (#11), Pangos (#4), and Wiltjer (#13). Both Bebe and Bismack look like they can really bother people with their length. Biyombo definitely looks more NBA-ready, but Bebe could potentially be a guy worth drafting now and bringing over in a few years (like Asik/Pekovic/Splitter)

One more thing about this. Rookies get their first paycheck in November and they re paid twice a month so if a lockout goes up to February or whatever it wont hurt as much if they were a regular NBA player.

There is one thing working against us though. Both the union and the NBA agree that the rookie scale contracts are the best of the 4 major sports and want to keep the system. So its not like they re going to be scaled back or something. So you would think that with a lockout coming they would want to be locked into their rookie scale contracts but I doubt you see major changes to that system.

I really like Bebe's game. I remember watching him in one of the junior tournaments I think, and he dropped something like 20 and 20 on Canada. The guy's an excellent rebounder, shot blocker, a legit 7 footer with amazing athleticism and potential.

That trade for Stuckey was just awful.

Why would you give up a top 5 pick for a back up PG?! Come on!

If you change Stuckey to Monroe then I might be down for that move lol :)

Whoever wants to trade for Stuckey must be high as hell, or just dumb.

Is the 2011 Nike Hoop Summit gonna be televised in Canada?

If not does anyone know a good site where I could watch it?
