Although his D in the nba was by no means amazing, thats definitely not the reason he sucked.
He sucked because he was a very short PF.

We need to settle this on Saturday once and for all.
Right now IMO, Knight > Harrison Barnes > Walker

Aside from Barnes, there are a ton of players that the raptors consider before Knight.
Unless the raptors somehow end up getting the 8t+ pick in the draft, you don't have to worry about either of those names.

I said it in jest but he's an example of an athletic PF in college converted to SF whose defense didn't end up translating well to the new position. Of course the fact that he had the IQ of a half-eaten grapefruit probably didn't help matters.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I would think Knight would be on the Raps radar in the top 5 picks. A young athletic PG with good size that can create and play D with an improving floor game with intelligence and a great attitude - what's not to like?
NBA Comparison: Charles Barkley
Strengths: Super strong and athletic. Mentally tough. Great competitor. Can score both in the post or on the perimeter. Has very good ball handling skills. Versatility will allow him to play some small forward. His strength, positioning, and leaping ability will help overcome height disadvantages for rebounds. Excels in half court or open court despite lack of speed. Has good quickness. A winner.
Weaknesses: A bit short for the PF position. Not extremely fast in the open floor.
A true warrior, Marcus Fizer has turned the Cyclones into a legit possible Final Four team. Combining great strength and athleticism with a nice shooting touch, Marcus looks as close to Charles Barkley as any player since. Exhibiting super leaping ability and body control, Fizer excels both on the break or in a half court set. Like Sir Charles, Marcus has a certain attitude that he brings to every game that he will not be denied. When a game is on the line Marcus wants the ball in his hands and has come up big late in games throughout his career.

Fizer was an undersized 4 who dominated smaller players in college, but showed signs of being a potential NBA 3. They thought his perimeter skills would translate to the NBA but he ended up being an undersized 4. He led Iowa State to a Big 12 regular season title, Big 12 tournament and an Elite Eight NCAA tournament finish which lead to him being selected 4th overall by the Chicago Bulls. His career was hampered by knee problems but he still never lived up to the college hype. Here's an NBADraft.net scouting report of Fizer written before the draft.NBA Comparison: Charles Barkley

Some people were comparing Blake Griffin to Fizer before the '09 Draft so that should calm your worries about the comparison.
