Wouldn't waste a FRP on him. If we're going the route of adding another wing at that price, I'd be far more interested in Bogi (first) or maybe even HBarnes but Hart is so meh. I'd only really look at him if it costs a SRP or two.

Why do people think bogi is getting traded? Does atlanta need capspace?

why do people think we want a guy that can't defend?

Can't defend or be a playmaker, nor is he a big. Don't get why we'd acquire him either.

Regression shooting the ball(??), when was he ever good at shooting that ball?

He can playmake a bit, but yes he can't defend

We also need shooting desperately its the same reason Masai and Booby signed Svi and he hasn’t panned out so we need someone better.

We need a good defensive center and a bench shooter. Not every player needs to be a defensive speacialist on a team especially not a bench player

We don't need a good defensive centre. We need a bench centre maybe. And every player has to be able to defend or the one weak link ruins it all.

The raptors are not trading for no defense players and when ever have they?

For one, while no Bogi is not known as a defender, he's nowhere near as bad as some seem to try to be making him out to be and yes actually he is a playmaker. He's an average defender (114 defrtg actually above Norman Powell - 119 *ahem*) and would not cause the whole damn thing to come apart lol.

He would also provide a MUCH needed scoring punch to our absolutely useless bench, so that we could occasionally give both Fred & Gary (who has struggled with minor injuries multiple times already since we got him) a breather which would likely keep both of them healthier throughout the season.

Who would defend Embiid, Vuc, Bam in the playoffs. Teams have abused our paint because of this issue and in the playoffs its matchup driven. We definitely need a defensive big on the bench for those situations where baby boucher would get abused.

Indy had top 5 defenses in 2019 and 2020 with Myles as their anchor. I think Poetl is probably slightly better on D tho but Turners shooting definitely closes the gap between the 2 plus its kinda moot if the Spurs aren't letting him go.

During his last season with the Raps, he shot 59% from the line (obviously not good but not necessarily hack material) and his form looked decent. He was shooting jumpers and even made a 3-pointer, so it looked like he had a chance to expand out to 3. Now, I'm not sure if he even takes jumpers anymore - he hasn't taken a 3 in San Antonio - and his shooting form at the line looks Shaq-ish.

If we’re able to get turner without giving up a starter we’re a legit top 4 team in the East. And we have a hell of a core to build on

???

I don't want Barnes coming off the bench. He deserves to be a full time starter. But so do the other 4 guys that currently round out our starting lineup. Maybe Turner should come off the bench? What do y'all think?

Personally I think it's matchup dependent. If we're playing a team with a big like Embiid, Jokic, etc. then Turner should start. Otherwise, we roll out the FVV/Trent/OG/Siakam/Barnes lineup.
If you want to go far in playoffs you need to have a real C in current lineup. Turner should come in starting lineup and Barnes should move to bench. It is good for team. Barnes will be a nightmare for opposing bench.

Turner + FRP for Dargic. I think that is the max Raptors can offer. Turner is under contract next year too so it is a good deal.

I mean, for the right price I'm sure they'd take Nurk, but some teams are probably highly valuing him.
Also, probably doesn't fit too well with our team philosophy.

Turner would start in key matchups vs the Embiids and Vucevics of the world. Otherwise play his 30 mins off the bench.

Last time he took a 3pt shoot was during the 2017-2018 season with us...he has taken only 2 3s in his entire career. just once over 55FT% in 6 seasons. Basic length. He is quite clearly not a fit with us (but for cheap, why not).

Are we talking about same Nurkic who is among top NBA players defensively? His defensive rating is better than any current player on Raptors.

and Nurse would start him for those specific matchups. You have followed the team long enough to know Nurse has done that before.

Idk why this is so hard for some people to comprehend especially when we literally went through the same thing when we had Gasol and Ibaka just a couple of years ago lol
