This was during Summer League. Still though having Rico Hines here will be huge for Scotties development.

I'm genuinely curious, what is it about offseason that can offer so much improvement to a player compared to regular seasons?

What's the difference in training?

It's pretty simple isn't it? During the season, you are so busy with playing games, game planning, traveling, recovering that teams barely have enough time to get in real practices... let alone players being able to work on their weaknesses regularly. You are doing what helps your team win, which is usually playing to your strengths.

At the end of the season, you have a fair idea of what are your true strengths/weaknesses. You have nothing really to do but focus on the weak areas. You can let your body recover based around your own personal schedule without other priorities. This is also why players gain their true size without having to worry about sweating it all off like they do during the season.

Agree.

Off season is about improving your weaknesses and getting physically stronger.

In season is when you play to your team’s strengths.

There’s a reason that there’s a meme of “15 lbs of muscle” every offseason. Especially for young guys, that’s when they grow into their bodies. For older guys, that’s when they recover their bodies.

Perhaps it’s the summer heat but Scottie is looking like a slightly taller Lebron out there! :o

Great summary. In the summer you don't have to worry about any negative outcome of the reps (miss shot, turnover, etc) and you can keep getting lot's of reps in practicing the right things. Eventually through routine you can change a process and/or ability.

Not to mention the dietary aspect, during a season players will have to consume way more Carbs for game energy which isnt ideal if you are trying to build muscle. If you are on a muscle building mission as most young players should be, you have to massively overeat fats and proteins to help the body bulk up properly which you wouldnt want to do during the season.

Incredible video on the eventual development of Scottie and maybe a glimpse into the future.

Can’t wait for the season to start. Year two, his team.

While Scottie is busy putting in work in the gym, this is the foolishness that Cade is doing:

Between Scottie's development and KD's decline, Scottie will be a more productive NBA player than KD by 2024, at the latest. Quote me.

Scottie has Demar's work ethic, but with way more talent and better physical gifts. He's going to be a special player.

Funniest thing is Demar is 4 on that list lmao
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.
