Hard to keep up with every post…not sure anyone shared this…

Pascal Siakam
Speaking of All-Stars, Siakam was heavily discussed with the Blazers in talks for the No.3 pick.

Yahoo’s Jake Fischer reported Tuesday that the Blazers were not interested in either Siakam or OG Anunoby.

Some further context on that is interesting, however. Before I share that, a reminder that everyone is constantly spinning this time of year, and the truth is often a little obscured if not caked completely in mud.

With that said, there are two competing narratives on the talks. Portland has projected that they were unsure about paying Siakam a new max contract. League sources, on the other hand, have suggested that Siakam was unwilling to provide assurances he would re-sign next summer.

Regardless, with the Blazers off the table, there have been no other serious talks with the Raptors (that I’ve heard about, I’m sure there have been some). There’s a belief that the Raptors will run it back yet again. Those things can change quickly, but that’s where I believe we’re at right now.

As I previously said, assumption was always that Pascal would resign. If he won’t give that assurance, then no, Blazers aren’t giving up those assets whether it be Sharpe or #3 or Simons or whatever

Probably one of the following
A. Smokescreen. They need more picks or players from Miami
B. They don't like what they get for Dame, and Masai told them the same deals will be there in March
C. They already know who they trade Lillard to, but it's conditional so they won't say.
D. They trade the #3 pick to someone else, it just depends on who is available at #3.
E. They trade #3 to Toronto conditional to who is available at #3
F. Masai explained to them how evaluating works and they are evaluating whether they should evaluate for now.

:P Portland doesn't want Siakam....yet have inquired/thought about his next contract. Hmmm.

For sure Siakam has been "asked", and has said if he is to give up his UFA for Portland, then show him the $. That just makes sense on his part.

And for Portland, you have to "know" what he will/won't re-sign for and will only do a deal if you know you will have him signed for term.

Pascal gets traded, any chance at super max is gone.

I doubt he would be thrilled about that.

It’s all over, shut this baby down. You will get Bilal Coulibaly or Kobe Bufkin at 13 and you will accept it.

Precisely the reason why I would want him traded.

Porzingis getting traded to Boston with an expiring contract. Can't we find someone willing to do that with Pascal?

I like Pascal but not for supermax. Come on now.

If Siakam is unwilling to commit to an extension with Portland, the odds of any deal going down are slim. Would be a massive risk for them to take.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Kristaps has played more than 57 games three times in his career. 2023 was the first time since 2017.

Boston potentially just got a 36M version of Otto Porter Jr. if he goes back to his 30-50+ games on the IR ways.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

I agree. First thing I tell him if I’m Masai: I hope you get all-nba next year but no suoermax for you.

Notice Washington isn’t getting much for Zinger

The Porzingis trade to Boston could hugely impact Portland who from some reports, targeted him as an option to pair with Lillard. Maybe you could see a bigger push for Siakam based on this.

I think the report about Pascal is bogus. I highly doubt Masai is talking to Pascal about trade destinations. This would be a huge risk to team chemistry.

Hilarious the Celtics are gambling on Porzingis. Good luck with that! Just pissing away this Tatum/Brown window.

New Washington GM getting fleeced twice in a week. Not a good look.

Portland should have jumped on it if the porz. price is Morris and a 1st.

Great move for Boston.

Brad Stevens has impressed me as a GM. I thought is promotion to the front office was unearned.

Pretty sure the team chemistry was already smashed and shattered this year

Right.......but it iss extremely rare to consult with players like this, and regardless of how bad chemistry was I don't think they would make it worse as well as have Pascal believe he was on the trading block if there was no deal.

Who knows maybe Masai is dumping OPJ by attaching #13 to Washington like Thad trade, then the new GM is genius
