Re: Tank World Order
Some of you sweating the Pistons too much.
Rarely does the worst team actually win the lotto and its prob a 7-9 picks deep so we still hood. Just gotta hope management acknowledges where we are much sooner than later and pulls the plug asap to capitalize on Lowrys value.

Re: Tank World Order
Sell high on Siakam, Lowry, and Powell.
Id keep Fvv and Booshay.
I understand the top players are the best on the team which is why you sell high at this point as they arent putting us over the top.
FVV and Booshay may be nice complimendary players when we do get better top end players.
I may even keep Siakam as he can be a great 2nd or 3rd piece on a real contender.

Re: Tank World Order
Imagine thinking FVV/OG/Siakam is a good core to build around.
These guys are worse than the Lowry/DD/JV core lol

Re: Tank World Order
Regardless of whether we tank or not, shouldn't we ship Lowry? I think it makes sense for both tankers and non tankers in the long run to collect draft picks and prospects for a player that is far older than the rest of the core. It would be pretty brutal for the Raptors if we don't move him and he walked for nothing.

FVV is a keeper, Boucher is cheap so might as well.
Norm and Lowry HAVE to go by the deadline. I'd listen to reasonable offers for Siakam.

Yup, Lowry/Powell need to go because of contract situation. Don't know what we're going to do with TD & Boucher.

Lowry, Powell, and Boucher
We need to sell high on Boucher asap. Powell is declining is PO for sure because he's getting back into form, and Lowry will join a legit contender next season. I know people don't want to see it happen but Lowry to the Clips next season is a scary possibility now

If you're talking about moves that make sense for both tankers and non tankers, I'm not sure Powell and Boucher would make sense for non tankers. It really depends on what their value is on the market but it can be argued that they have value moving forward for us because of their age being closer to Siakam, Fred, OG.

Re: Tank World Order
Lowry has to be traded, it makes no sense to keep him for nostalgia purposes.
We just aren't good enough to warrant keeping Kyle, we can't beat any of the Top 4 teams in a 7-game series. We've got to start thinking about the future and that starts with moving Lowry and securing our lottery pick.

Put this team against a competent defense with good big men and they crumble.

But Lowry has earned the right to decide what happens to him.
But if we trade Lowry willy-nilly, what will future free agent players think of our organization.

Both convince themselves that being a loser is justified. Its been and is fascinating to watch to say the least.
Whats your argument for not tanking this year? Tonight raps were fully healthy and couldn't beat a Heat team without Butler and Herro.
Lose the battle today and win the war tomorrow.

Name me the last team to win a Championship without a SUPERSTAR. This is the perfect season to tank and increase our odds of getting one through the draft.
Do you honestly believe this team can make it out the east this year? It's been proven that Pascal Siakam cannot be trusted as a number 1 option moving forward.
I agree that we need a superstar but committing to losing doesn't bring superstars here nor does it develop them. Being a winning team for the last however many seasons has turned our prospects into high quality players and if we continue this route and continue to develop the winning mentality and atmosphere, we'll have the assets to make the move that puts us in position for another championship.
Intentionally trying to lose will develop losers and decrease work ethic. It makes perfect sense why "two" ignores that fact because all they believe in is talent and that talent will solve all. But talent is only A factor, not the defining one and there are a TON of player examples of this. And besides that, there's ZERO guarantee that a top 5 pick will be better than the bottom 20 of the first round.
Patience and commitment is key and its the way Masai has always functioned. I stand with Masai.
No one here is advocating for 3+ years for losing. Sure you can accumulate assets and put yourself in a position to make a move. But how often does that happen? Superstars aren't begging to sign with Toronto in free agency. Even if you do make a trade you need enough left to compete for a title. A Kawhi like trade rarely happens.
A one year tank with a top 5 pick will set this franchise in a strong position in the long term. Who is to say you can't develop players in a losing season? you play them and let them from their mistakes. Considering the core of this team a 1st round playoff exit vs the Nets will provide little value
