People are clamouring for 34 year-old, one legged KD when we have 21 year-old Giannis with a jump shot.

Haven't watched the video yet but I think Scottie's main flaw was quickness from his feet.
He seemed to be playing mud at times throughout the season. Idk how much of that was injuries but he needs to improve his lateral quickness. Especially on defence

Tell 'em!
Playing videogames isnt an instant red flag, as long as they have the work ethic when it comes to basketball which many players do.

I think it's an age gap/generation thing. Guys in their 40's thinking it's some niche hobby. Most of the league plays video games.

Yeah, they talked about his lack of lateral movement/burst and just generally being a non flexible athlete.
I don't think that's something he can fix but he can defintely work around it and put in tons of work to unlock those hips.

I think that there are little things folks can do to improve their athleticism if they haven’t maxed out their athletic potential yet. I’d even eager to say that we see more and more cases of players getting more athletic in their first three years in the league after getting on an NBA training and diet regimen.
I think the good news for Scottie is that his issues seem to be around his flexibility, particularly in his core. I’d even argue that he needs to be stronger in his core as well. And though I’m no doctor, I’ve experienced the process of improving core strength and flexibility and it took me from being a guy who was solely a good top speed, north/south athlete to someone who could move really well laterally, be more agile and generally more explosive (went from rim scraper dunks to windmills in six months). For a more pro athlete example, I believe it was Eric Gordon who had never dunked until he got to college to being a pretty athletic guy before age and injuries caught up to him. I also remember hearing stories that athleticism was something Charles Barkley worked on intentionally as a youth/collegiate player and one of his big focuses was flexibility training (don’t quote me on these things though—I could be misremembering).
But back to Scottie, more good news for him is that he obviously has the capacity for explosive movements as evidenced by his great second jump ability on the offensive boards, so he may just need some specific training to unlock that explosiveness in other parts of his game.

This is a likely outcome. People forget just how raw he was coming into the league. He's a jack-of-all-trades type and so he was able to make an instant impact but it might take 5-7 years for him to become a true superstar. And that's ok!
Thankfully, we're good enough to let Scottie be Scottie and develop on his own timeframe. If that turns out to be right away, then great! If not, hopefully people can just enjoy the ride and refrain from riding him or more likely blaming others if it doesn't happen overnight.

Likewise, he's also been seen in multiple training session nevermind the acquisition of Rico Hines. There's no reason to assume no improvement other than you unreasonably expect him to have no life outside of training.
From everything I've seen Scottie's mechanics on his jumper already seems a lot cleaner and especially seems ridiculous to doubt him when he was EASILY the MOST improved from his college to first NBA season. I think you're more so likely to be disappointed by this poor assumption.

Sometimes the improvement comes but the stats don't always show linear progression. Tatum had less than a 2 PPG increase in his sophomore year before taking a huge leap in year 3. I'm more interested in his development as a ballhandler and outside shot.
