The Spurs FO probably had their own pizza party to celebrate that too.

Unfortunately, Barnes minutes will be split between KO and Brown.

Looking over the grizzlies remaining schedule they have a ton of winnable games. Tonight against Portland, 2 against Detroit, 1 against the wiz/spurs/hornets. The fight for 6 should not be over.

We had a hard time getting wins with Scottie, without him were going to be God awful.

Agree. The key is that we don't win our winnable and non winnable games. We can't control what other teams do, but Masai and Darko can definitely control how our team does. Any win from here on out is almost pointless, unless they really believe the play-in is necessary.

Need the Grizzlies to beat Portland and Nets to beat the Hawks today.

We're only 2 games back of the Grizzlies, but they're terrible. This is going to be tough. There is a chance we move up even from 7, but we'd want to improve our odds.

I think we should be liberal with resting IQ and RJ moving forward.

Pop needs to be investigated for robbery after what he did to us and the Hawks. That was a masterclass in asset management. He got multiple lottery picks for a backup center and a fringe All-Star.

Tank or no tank it doesn't matter. Those bottom 5 teams have always been out of reach, and Memphis is bad

With Scottie we would have won 9 or so games to close out the season (at most, and I'm being generous). Without Scottie, we end up with a few less wins. It's not going to significantly impact things I don't think

But yah, hopefully Gradey gets his minutes up for the rest of the season and we use the time for his development

I think you are seriously underestimating how bad this offence is without Scottie. The only reason we might not overtake MEM is just lack of remaining games.

Just last night alone, 1st half stats vs 2nd half.

FG% 49% vs 34%
3P% 37.5% vs 14%
PTS 64 vs 41
AST 19 vs 12
REB 30 vs 17

The only difference from the second half yesterday and a usual game was 6min of DJ and 5min of Boucher. Scottie creates tons of offence that doesn't show up on his stat sheet.

The offence and defence both take a huge hit with him out.

Tradeable contracts, development, operate over the cap, etc. These are the buzzwords for no long term plan. Asset management is a foreign concept in this franchise currently.

Thank you, Nets. They have to pad that wins column to separate themselves from us. Now it's up to the Grizzlies tonight.

It's crazy how the Jak trade just gets worse and worse with time.

It was a horrible trade the day it was done because a non-3 point shooting starting frontcourt of Jakob, Pascal, and Scottie was never going to work. It's the 2020s and modern NBA offences are fundamentally built around floor spacing created by perimeter scoring, I can't imagine what the conversations were like in the front office that led to the Jakob Poeltl trade. I can only assume Masai is surround by a bunch of yes-men and women advising him at this point, it happens to a lot of people who are really successful.

losing this pick is going to lead to us losing Scottie..

it'll be one to many yrs of pain or mediocrity...

we aren't getting a legit piece to add to the core until 2025-26 season starts pukeee
