Yeah no homo for sure, I definitely want him to be the SF of the raps future, the guy is absolutely versatile, can flat out D against anyone and has the toughness of a Spartan from "300" movie.

Irving and Gilchrist duo in the raps is sick as hell

I think Kanter is becoming my horse. I just love what I'm reading about the guy.

Great NBA body (6'10 and Horford level muscle)
Awesome hands
Awesome post instincts
Pick and pop ability
Very calm player + great attitude in general, team first guy

I have Irving 1st but I might put Kanter close to D Will for 2nd. The thing I like about a Kanter pick is with him, Davis and Amir our frontcourt would be pretty much set, assuming Kanter can guard Cs (I expect he can). You win with muscle and defense like that in the frontcourt. Those 3 guys would bring it. I mean talk about the complete opposite of the Bosh and Bargnani frontcourt. Like... the complete opposite.

Then in the next few drafts we can look at beefing up our offense. And I think a Bayless Derozan combo could be pretty nice offensively as is. I think with Bayless and Demar in the backcourt and Davis/Kanter/Amir up front we're legit building something
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

Hey I just ran the realgm lotto sim and noticed that the difference in winning percentage between the No. 3 and No. 4 pick is only 0.1%?!? Does anyone know the reasoning behind this and why the difference between No. 2 and No. 3 is 6.1%? Thanks.

That's not true, here are the real percentages:

Defensively, I think a Kanter/Davis frontcourt could potentially be like what OKC has now with Ibaka/Perkins, which is very appealing imo. You have a big body C (who isn't particularly athletic) that won't get pushed around in the post and can man up against bigger Cs, along with a quick, athletic shotblocker at PF. Both can rebound the ball well.

The difference is that on the offensive end, both Kanter and Davis look like they can be better scorers (with Kanter potentially being a legitimate go-to scoring option).

A young starting lineup of Bayless/DeMar/JJ/Davis/Kanter seems very balanced and is very intriguing imo. We'd have some solid potential at every position (I guess SF would be our biggest weakness, but if JJ can improve his jumper he could be a great glue guy at SF imo). If we ended up with that roster, and hopefully bring in a solid defensive-minded coach, I think we could have a bright future ahead of us.

yeah it's because we were tied with Washington, so we split the lotto balls evenly and flip a coin for position. The Ford mock has updated it with the new odds (15.6% for #3, 11.9% for #4).

Biyombo is going to be climbing the drafts boards right quickly....getting comparisons to Ben Wallace (except actually 6'9)

Only 6'9 but huge reach and a athletic beast with good numbers put up in limited time in spain.

Probably not worthy of top three pick but if we fell to 4 or 5 I would take him over the perry jones types.

Imagine and Ed Davis Biyombo front court.

Here's a big selling point on Kanter (particularily over Val) but even over guys like Barnes or PJ. He has great footwork in the post and even more interestingly is a great passer out of the post.

I don't think we've ever had that in Raptorland. A big man that can go in the low post, score or draw the double AND pass out. Can you imagine slashers like Demar, Bayless and Johnson getting fed the ball out of the post with a clear lane to the rim? Wow, Demar would make quite a few highlight-of-the-nights. Same for Johnson.

hell, if he's as good of a passer as they say, he and Davis could form a nice big-to-big tandem playing out of the low block.

I'm super hyped about the draft.

Biyombo over Perry would be ridiculous. Although I do really like the kid (?) and his defensive potential, and wouldn't have reservations about bringing him here if we could land another pick in the 9-15 range

How is Byombo any more of a C than Javale McGee, who despite his spectacular block rate is a sieve on a team as bad as ours? He looks like the classic one-trick pony C. Andris Biedrins all over again. Has no game outside of three feet, can't hit a free throw, but man, the suckers fall for his blocks. Except... he was trashing an undersized US frontcourt and guards who didn't know how to deal with a shotblocker. He's a good pick for a playoff team, but he's no lottery pick.

Picks like this desperately need a big man coach to show them the ropes. Too often teams draft guys based on their massive potential and throw them to the wolves with nothing more than a motivational speech. I would be all for drafting a guy like Byombo on two conditions. First, we make a good trade for a second first round pick in the late lottery for him. Second, we hire a guy like Charles Oakley or Dikembe Mutombo (just two ideas who probably would not sign) to work with him.
