IQ, RJ and Dick are good young pieces around Scottie. Not to mention some nice complimentary pieces like Yak, Brown, Olynyk, GTJ and Ochai. Scottie isn’t going to leave us because we gave up the 8th pick in a historically weak draft. lol. Not many teams would choose to build their team around Scottie as well. He’s in a great situation. It’s his team and they’ve added pieces around him that compliment his skillset.

We have Scottie under contract until 2027-28. There is still time to salvage the situation, but it certainly won't be easy.

lol half those complementary pieces are probably gone in the off season. Ochai is terrible, IQ and RJ are decent but neither will turn into anything that can lead to a chip.

Losing the pick will not cause the team to lose Scottie, but the mediocrity will.

To be fair, most of the losses came when we had a lineup of 4 PFs + Dennis.

I don't think we'll be as bad next season. That's both a good and bad thing. Good because I think everyone will be a bit better, and this team fits better than the iteration we started the season with. Bad because it'll mean we've hit the level of mediocrity that precludes of from getting another high pick (this year was a perfect opportunity to secure a top pick, but we traded the pick away because Masai thought we were a backup C away from contention).

Losing to the Hornets baby this is it
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Talent deficit on this roster without Scottie will become readily apparent in the coming days. Pray for lottery luck. Even the Pacers pick has been improving.

One more quarter to go, but the game is too close. It should be 90 to 60 for the Hornets.

Welp it’s clearly tank season. Can’t remember the last time someone missed a game due to a dislocated finger on their non-shooting hand.

Clifford with the clutch play call down by 3. LOL impossible to out-tank Hornets.

So? OKC was 34 games under .500 two years ago. A lot can change in a year or two.

They rebuilt the right way, just accumulate draft capital and proceed from there. You're attempting to make a comparison that isn't similar.

That's impossible. Holmgren was a 2nd overall pick. If our pick end up 2nd overall, we keep it this year.

Our Jalen Williams is going to the spurs though

How likely are we to keep atleast 7th worst odds?

Atleast in that scenario we can hope for some Scottie year luck

We're really going to give up the best possible pick aren't we?

Also all those crying about how "it's only the 7th pick in a weak draft"...

it's only considered a weak draft because the top doesn't have a superstar..

any of... Risacher/Topic/Sarr/C.Williams/Sheppard/Saluan/ K.George/Dillingham/Holland

are good enough prospect that would've been a great addition to our core and better then any player we will acquire until 2025 season

12-20 before OG.
11-18 since OG.

Nah, Masai managed to salvage it by moving Siakam and OG finally. Rest of the season seems kind of pointless but it’s more data to evaluate RJ/Quick/Gradey. I don’t know about Ochai yet but he’s hopefully a pleasant surprise type of guy like Powell.
