He was decent for the few minutes he played, but today both teams went small. So long as Tyson Chandler was in, Jonas was in, but Coach K elected to go small ball most of the way, so not much Chandler. For much of the game, Lebron was the Team USA centre.

Yeah, I find it funny when the US TV guys trash the international refs.

I find the game is called much more evenly than an NBA game.

I wish the NBA was more like this.

He's not a terrible jumper when he goes up for boards and blocks, I just don't feel he finds it necessary to elevate on a lot of his chip shots. Gets it up on the board quicker.

Yeah. That's the way I see it too.

On another note. He is at least as tall/ long as Chandler. Possibly longer. I was trying to compare the 2 when there were matched up in the post. He just needs to add Chandlers muscle.

JV was far from flawless, but at least he got to make a few mistakes without getting yanked. The second foul on Kobe was kind of questionable. A no call, IMO. Nice to see that he at least looked athletic enough to hang with Chandler.

I missed the game, but based on the comments from everyone...it looks like Jonas V is a project big on the elite basketball stage....it will take him time to develop....Jonas's rookie year will be all about 'development'

That's the same for all rookies. This game was no more a yardstick than any other in the past several months. Anthony Davis didn't even play.

It would be great, but it wouldn't fit into Stern's agenda.

Undercover Bargs, no wonder we haven't been hearing too much of him lately!

Chandler doesnt exactly have a big physique himself. Jonas just needs to get stronger not necessarily bulk up muscle wise. It takes time for that though. Go work in construction for a while.

That Bargs pic is so funny and cute, wearing the green all by himself. Good for him though, good game to study some of the best in the NBA.

Exactly. I'm pretty sure our fans realize that rookies spend their first few seasons developing. Jonas won't be any different from what we've seen out of Bargnani and Ed in their rookie years. We'll see some encouraging stuff, we'll see some frustrating stuff. He's 20 years old.

As long as he doesn't play like Hoffa all year, it's acceptable.

If that does happen our board might commit mass suicide

I was looking for that too, he actually appeared to be a bit taller than Chandler which surprised me. Then again it's entirely possible that he grew a bit over the last year, I did when I was his age.

I haven't been watching the Olympics much so I haven't had much of a chance to see JV. Can someone briefly explain why he's buried on the bench? Is it because he's inexperienced, gets into foul trouble, or because he's simply not the best player they have at C?
