You know you got a great one when fans of opposing teams continue to become more envious of your rookie.

So many Barnes haters on the general board.
Magic fans trying to convince themselves/everyone that Wagner is better than Barnes is downright hilarious.

that's how these online shticks get attention.

create controversy and discussion. get people riled for argument.
That guys a moron lol. His initial tweet says based off the ~20 games then in his replies he says well they weren't high in my pre draft so that's still holding them back and that 20 games isn't enough to warrant them jumping up that much.

Moron on many levels. We're at the point where Scotties playing sample in NBA is bigger than college

"Im gonna ignore the 670 minutes against NBA competition in favour of the 595 minutes he played at college a year ago"

Lol a lot of these dudes who cover the draft have huge egos and hate admitting they were wrong because people will take their opinions on the next draft less seriously

Imagine tweeting about re-ranking the top 5 picks with a 20 game sample and then telling people 20 games isn't enough for you to change your pre-20-game-sample opinion

The common thread that ties both together will be his handle. He does very well in transition because of his vision and the better spacing - the passing lanes are smaller and short-lived in the half-court, the chance of getting stripped is higher.

Thorpe talked about this last month in a pod, saying the key to him making the jump to a bonafide star level player is his handle on which he has a long ways to go.

Except most people here don't seem to value work ethic and character. I mean its one of the bigger reason you could have predicted Barnes to Toronto really. And I'm willing to bet he showed a lot more in his workout but he showed flashes in College of getting to the rim including a quick first step, and did display what I though was a fairly decent jumper, just lacking in touch.

Love these daily posts from him. Reminds me of Curry's "#DubNation Lock In" tweet on every gameday.

I hope he drops a 30 piece tonight. Need him to be aggressive from the jump.

Scottie is 7/15 from 3 over the last two games.

It's like Nurse firmly told Scottie, shoot the damn 3 and Scottie's like, ok.

I think they announce the league Monthly awards for Oct-Nov tomorrow. Scottie as Rookie of the month for the East likely announced

If he ends the year shooting above 30% from 3 and 75% from the FT line that's a huge success IMO and bodes very well for his shooting long-term. Great base to then make further improvements from.

It's exciting that's he's so productive despite having so much he still needs to improve on.

Scottie’s 3P% is now higher than Suggs’ FG%

Crazy thing is, Barnes is already taking and making above the break 3s as well. Not just waiting to take open corner 3s.

Dude has the potential to be Kawhi offensively given his size/skillset.

Barnes is such a nice kid, but I wonder if he won't have to punch someone in the face to not get looked off so much.

What’s with the the talking/taunting/player watching thing? Alvin pointed it out tonight but I’ve noticed it on occasion during the games all season. Tonight’s breakaway was like touchdown turnaround celebration taunt-type stuff, kinda weird.

He's been doing it since his college days. I think it's a YMCA thing.

But one day, he's going to run into a big guy in a foul mood and he's going to get hit really hard and that will probably end that move.

That being said, he's a young kid with a lot of energy and flair and you don't want him to lose that.

Didn’t you watch his college highlights? He’s a charismatic kid and likes to have fun out there. Nothing weird about it.

the Raptors staff has taken a lot of his extracurriculars out of the equation. but you look at him during lineup announcements, he's not the same guy on day 1. he's more serious.

i'm sure every player on the court talks smack anyways, and Barnes likes the showmanship.
raf1995 wrote:I just don’t think he has that kind of potential. I think we will regret not trading him for a haul in a few years when he’s a mid-tier starter with nice playmaking and defense and a shaky jumper.
