I'd like to see how his wingspan measures out. He looks like he has little dwarf arms. I know it's not as important in the backcourt, but Wade and Rondo illustrate how long arms can really help a guard.

Maybe. He gets a lot of steals and is a really good rebounder. I don't think his arm length really hinders him in any way.

True. The more I think about it, the less I feel physical limitations are an issue with this guy - or rather, whatever physical limitations he has, he makes up for in other ways. He's got heart and he's a winner and the Raptors haven't had a guy like that for a long time. I'd really enjoy watching him play here next season.

Few players ever skip athletic testing; even LeBron James, Cleveland's last no-brainer No. 1 pick, participated. Top prospects do skip the drill portion of the combine with some regularity, and Irving won't be alone on the sidelines for that, as Ford has reported Arizona forward Derrick Williams, UConn guard Kemba Walker and Kentucky guard Brandon Knight are among those passing on an opportunity to do the drills.

WTF.

It's not really a "WTF" situation, there were plenty more prospects than that who actually decided to skip the drills. They're not skipping the athletic testing or measurements, just the drills, which don't really tell NBA teams anything anyway.

From yesterday:

chadfordinsider Chad Ford
Now hearing Alec Burks also pulling out of predraft drills. Enes Kanter and Kawhi Leonard also considering skipping drills.

chadfordinsider Chad Ford
Kyrie Irving, Derrick Williams, Brandon Knight, Kemba Walker, Tristan Thompson all skipping drills portion of pre-draft camp tomorrow.

Kanter did ultimately decide to take part in drills, Ford said.

Ahhh....I thought they were referring to the agility tests, etc.

Good idea for Kanter to do the drills. He's going to show well. He's be doing constant drills with Grover.

not even close. Bradley is more of a defensive, scoring bench guard, he's not much of a PG at all. Sure, you could try starting him and maybe he ends up spectacular like Westbrook, but I doubt it. You definitely wouldn't need to give up our lotto pick to get him by any means, if anything you might be able to grab him with the TPE or Alabi.

Agreed - Avery's strengths are on the defensive side. But if we are really serious about drafting Knight with our 5th - do you think his ceiling is that much higher than Bradley's?

Following up with BC's comments - if we are seriously considering a pick that may pay dividends 2-3 years from now (especially with the looming lockout) - Avery Bradley might fit that description as well as some of the 2011 draftees.

I thought realistically he was 5'8" to 5'10" without shoes (based on some things that I had read & how small he looks on the court).

If he is almost 6 foot without shoes, this is a huge surprise.

I thought he was gonna be 5'10 with shoes. So that's a good news if he's 6'0 or 6'1 with shoes, its same height as jameer nelson.

Okay, I'm warming up to Kanter. He looks fairly huge.

Is Kanter trying to prove a point? He has dunked the ball EVERY single time around the rim.

Maybe he was worried that nobody will remember his name. He's trying the Tobias Funke method of getting yourself noticed.

I really want to..but I'm just not. Lack of above the rim play/athleticism is my big issue. I don't care about his offense I want him to be able to block shots and protect the rim. Need to see what his wingspan/standing reach is.

Some intriguing C prospects out there. Vucevic, Benson, Kanter, Tyler.

If the Jazz really want Knight or Walker a 3 for 5 swap would probably work to let the Raps grab Kanter.

No way am I adding sweetener to end up with Kanter at the end of this craptastic season. Take Walker and run and if he's gone, BPA. Forget trading up to get someone if it'll cost some of our precious few assets.

I'm really hoping Tyler goes undrafted and we can bring him in to take a look at him. Lots of talent, but lots of question marks.

A team like Utah enough sweetener may be simply a lesser cap hit for the player they want. so a future 2nd or something . im just speculating.

I don't like small pgs and I'd still consider a Nelsen size pg small. Especially when lacking a defensive / shot blocking C
