Other than Marshall, who has been assisted on just 20 percent of his field goals--which you would expect since most of his scoring comes from driving the ball straight to the hoop--Harrison Barnes is by far the Tar Heel who is creating most of his own shots. Barnes has been assisted on just 39 percent of his field goals this season.

That's actually a very, very reassuring stat. It also makes sense, considering that Barnes has looked a lot more confident in that area this season.

Tell that to the ignorant haters especially those who kept saying Barnes can't survive without Marshall.

Any Matt Bonners out there?

http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketba ... y-ballot-2

Here’s how my ballot would look if the season ended today.

1. Anthony Davis, Kentucky - The freshman forward and likely No. 1 pick in this summer’s NBA draft continues to dominate on both ends of the floor. He’s averaging 17.8 points and 7.5 blocks in his last two games. He’ll face his toughest test of the SEC season in Starkville on Tuesday against Mississippi State’s Arnett Moultrie and Renardo Sidney.
2. Thomas Robinson, Kansas - The 6-foot-9 junior had his lowest scoring output in six weeks when he finished with just 10 points in Monday’s victory at Kansas State. Two days earlier, though, he had 24 points and 14 boards in a home win against Oklahoma State. He ranks second in the nation with 12 rebounds per game.
3. Draymond Green, Michigan State
4. Tyler Zeller, North Carolina - Zeller’s missed free throw and last-second defensive lapse in last week’s loss to Duke overshadowed what has been a banner season for the 7-foot center. The potential ACC Player of the Year is averaging 23.3 points in his last three games. In league play he’s averaging 19 points and 10.8 rebounds.
5. Kevin Jones, West Virginia

On the cusp

Kris Joseph, Syracuse - The senior came up huge with a 29-point effort in last week’s 64-61 win over Georgetown. He averages a team-high 14 points for the nation’s second-ranked team.

Jared Sullinger, Ohio State - The preseason All-American had 10 turnovers in Saturday’s loss to Draymond Green and Michigan State. He bounced back with 23 points in Tuesday’s win at Minnesota.

Cody Zeller, Indiana - Tyler Zeller’s younger brother has hardly played like a freshman. The 6-foot-11 forward leads Indiana with 15.4 points and 6.4 rebounds.

This guy looks like he could be one of the steals of the draft.

Has one of the best PERs in the NCAA this year and the stretch big man thing is something that can usually guarantee you rotation minutes. Looks a lot like Ryan Anderson to me.

Seems like some of the biggest steals lately are athletic white guys. It's like some GMs and scouts just take one look at a pasty boy and assume he's 30% less athletic than he is. I think Budinger goes top 20, Leuer goes top 30, Psycho goes top 10 and Leonard is considered a top 3 lock right now, if they're black. It's a market inefficiency. Look at the play at :23. This guy is much faster than a Bonner. Leuer had a very similar play in his one youtube video last year, except to finish it off he dunked above the rim. That's all I needed to know to realize the "That guy has size and skill, but he's too much of a slug to make it in the NBA" crap was wrong. Budinger was basically the same prospect Barnes is right now and went 44 lol
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

There's no way you start 3 rookies and hope for any level of success. They simply arent ready to go from a 30 game schedule to an 82 game schedule travelling across the continent and playing against fully grown men. Look at how bad Charlotte is when they start two rookies.

This place is insufferable.

Isn't that the goal though? I'd rather tank next season to all hell if we can as well. Hopefully no Jose or Barbosa by that time to win us games. Just a lot of scrub rookies. I'd rather have another bottom 2-3 in the league record because it's clearly not happening this season

So what? Kyle Korver also went to Creighton, would you pass on him in the 2nd round? The only reason he went to Creighton was to play for his dad and he's already turned them into a top-25 team. The Doug would be a steal in round 2.

That would explain the lack of interest in him. He doesn't come from a big name school. He may be great but programs matter unfortunately. He asked why there's no interest and I explained why.

He's like if Scola and Korver had a baby. He's crafty for a sophmore and his shot is legit.

I have this feeling Beal is going to jump up hard in the Ford, etc. rankings. Freshman always have an advantage of sorts. GMs will convinced themselves they see a future star in Beal. I could see top 5 for him

I don't feel like selecting him in the top 5 is a mistake. Top-2 no, top-3 no, but 4 or 5 is fine by me.

He's actually fairly popular among NCAA fans. You'll hear more about him when the tournament rolls around. I think most NBA people just figure he'll go back to school for another year.

4 or 5 is more than fine, bro. I'll celebrate on draft night if we get him. Think about Beal replacing that "Mr. Zero Impact" Compton Kid yessssssss. I'm fine with JJ being the starter 3 cos he can impact the game in other areas, just don't do stupid things but continue feel good to be a gangsta toughness on the opponents, damn man...Beal, Bargs and Val as the cornerstone drooools!! :D

UConn/DePaul is a track meet. Drummond is the fastest, and really coordinated for his size. Made a bullet pass to Lamb from the high post for one of his baby floaters, too.

See that's the thing...you cannot possibly be rebuilding and expect success at the same time. Just doesn't work that way. And if a proper rebuild is what we're shooting for, then starting 3 talented rookies is better than Jose and Barbosa catapulting us into the 8th seed.

3 rookies don't usually bring success, but they aren't any ordinary rookies, they are top tier lottery levels rookies, its better to play one of those than playing that guy you called Demar.
