Not one center on the list. Thought our management would have learned the importance of having good center play. Birch would be a great backup C and I hope we can trade for a good starting one otherwise this season will be tough to watch.

Got Achiuwa and Birch at the 5.

Season will be fine... it's a development year but at the same time we'll be in the playoffs

I'm glad they didnt pay mediocre guys like Holmes.

Just sit back and enjoy. No need to complain. Got the best gm in the game.

Unless Achiuwa has improved tremendously in only a season, he's more of a 3rd string than a starting center in the NBA.

Calling out our teams glaring weakness shouldn't really be considered whining btw lol.

False. Averaged 15/10 as a starter. Just needed minutes last season but got none cuz of Bam in his way. Definitely already a back up in this league and with more minutes, has great upside.

It's whining when you assume the team will be bad when this team is a playoff team lol.

Assuming the Lowry deal goes through and Precious becomes a raptor....I would do a Kelly Oubre S&T for Chris Boucher. Boucher is familiar with the Warriors organization.

Fred VanVleet / Malachi Flynn
Kelly Oubre Jr. / Goran Dragic
OG Anunoby / Gary Trent Jr.
Pascal Siakam / Scottie Barnes
Khem Birch / Precious Achiwa

That roster can easily be successful next season imo

Could be, but that would involve both Fred and Pascal being shipped out, which seems less likely

NY, Wash, Chicago, Charlotte all overrated.

I really like what Chicago did. The rest are meh.

But Chicago.... That team could surprise a lot of people. Lonzo is really solid and Demar changed his game in San Antonio. He could fit in perfectly as they have lots of outside shooting.

I think Chicago was desperate to get in the playoffs for next season but they are now locked into this SL for few years now. I just dont see the upside.

The upside is not being a middling lottery team and keeping Lavine. I don’t know why people think being stuck in the lottery for years is better then being a playoff team even if you never win a championship. Just ask Sacramento how that’s working out.

Depends on how well they are coached....

But Demar at PF was rather effective for San Antonio, so I think the combo of him and Pat Williams can share the 3-4 spots. Lonzo and Zack Lavine is a pretty solid backcourt.

Demar becomes one of your primary play makers and has 4 guys surrounding him that shoot the 3 exceptionally well.

Defense would be my biggest concern, but I think they can be very good offensively. The passing, shooting, slashing, low post options are all there. Just need a good system and balance.

Upside of being a contender..

You definitely want to be in the playoffs especially as a young team but theyre locked in now and hoping for internal growth.

15/10 over how many games? I didn't watch him play much because he was riding the pine in the playoffs.

And I thought this team had potential to be more than a play in team who will likely get their asses kicked. Just needed to take care of the Center spot adequately.

I know everyone keeps saying that because of the contract but knowing Nurse and his style...I absolutely see Gary coming off the bench at some point in an elite 6th man role.

It may not be immediately but I def see it happening.

There are literally only two teams that are contenders in the East. The alternative is to be stuck in the lottery and lose Zach Lavine. You have to crawl before you run and you just need one opening to make noise. No one thought they Phoenix would break through to the finals or Atlanta would be one game away from the finals. They still have Markkanen, White, Pat Williams and 2 picks over the next 4 years to retool their team around Lavine and Ball.

Makes sense. All the hair brained proposals of us getting Green, Tyrell or Brunson never made any sense.

When he had minutes he produced, and that was on a playoff team. To say he's a 3rd stringer is flat out false, when's clearly shown enough to be a back up. I'm not sure where you're judgement is on him but everyone knows he's a solid young prospect in the league, so do some homework lol.

Center spot is taken care of, along with our cap. Paying holmes a glorified energy guy is just a waste of money. It's a development year and will be in the playoffs ... not sure what's so diffcult to understand. Seems too many people are out to lunch on this board, no offence.

They have zero defence and are now capped out. It's good that they made the moves to get in I just dont see the upside in 2 years how this team is a contender.

The key to negotiations is to always have a best alternative. Masai needs to trade Dragic to another team to teach the Mavs a lesson.

I said he's more a 3rd stringer than he is a starting center, not that he is a 3rd stringer only. Backup seems perfectly good for him but problem is that Birch is a backup player too.

That is not a good position to be in no matter how much of a Raptors Homer you are, no offense.
